69th National Film Awards 2023: Winners Announced

The National Media Centre in New Delhi hosted the announcement of the 69th National Film Awards recipients, showcasing accomplished people who have made noteworthy contributions to Indian cinema. These accolades, which honour quality and inventiveness in the film industry, are quite important. For “Pushpa,” Allu Arjun was named Best Actor, while “Gangubai Kathiawadi” and “Mimi” each won Best Actress honours for Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon. “The Kashmir Files” got the Nargis Dutt Award for fostering national unity, while “The Nambi Effect” was recognised as the best feature film.

The first Best Feature Film winner was a Marathi film called “Shyamchi Aai,” however “Lagaan,” which received eight trophies in 2002, has won the most prizes in National Film prizes history. In addition to honouring local talent, the occasion highlights the top films in a variety of languages and bestows the coveted Dadasaheb Phalke Award for a lifetime of accomplishment. Pankaj Tripathi honours his late father by dedicating his Best Supporting Actor win The actor also offered his congratulations to Kriti Sanon, who shared the Best Actress prize for her performance in Mimi with Alia Bhatt. The 69th National Film Awards were announced on Thursday in Delhi, and actor Pankaj Tripathi, who is currently enjoying positive reviews for his most recent film OMG 2, was honoured with the Best Supporting Actor prize for his performance in Mimi. The actor, who is still in mourning over the death of his father, dedicated his prize to him. In a statement, he said: “Unfortunately, this is a time of grief and mourning for me. He would have been quite pleased for me if Babuji had been present. He was quite proud and happy when I initially received the National Award mention.

On a Thursday, the 69th National Film Awards winners were revealed at the National Media Centre in New Delhi. The President will attend an event where these awards, which honour the greatest Indian films produced in 2021, will be presented. The Central Board of Film Certification’s approved films from January 1 through December 31 of that year were eligible. These honours have been given since 1954, and the Directorate of Film Festivals oversees their administration.

PM greets women scientists during his visit to ISRO and praises them for their crucial contribution to Chandrayaan 3.

  • On Saturday, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) women scientists who were working on the “Chandrayaan-3” project interacted with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who praised them for their crucial contribution to the successful conclusion of India’s first lunar landing mission.
  • On August 26, days after the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft made a successful landing on the moon, the Prime Minister travelled to Bengaluru to offer his congratulations to the ISRO crew.
  • PM Modi is seen in a video introducing himself to and conversing with female scientists at the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) and sharing it on X (previously Twitter), according to news agency ANI. S Somanath, the director of ISRO, is seated next to the prime minister.
  • On Wednesday evening, India became the first nation to successfully deploy a lander on the unexplored lunar South Pole. (PM Modi’s visit to ISRO is LIVE)
  • On Saturday, PM Modi addressed the scientists gathered at the ISRO’s Telemetry Tracking and Command Network Mission Control Complex in Bengaluru. He noted that “Women scientists played a crucial part in the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. Future generations will be motivated to pursue science seriously and use it for the benefit of society by the “Shivkshakti” point (the location on the lunar South Pole where the “Vikram” lander touched down). The welfare of the people remains our top priority, Prime Minister Modi declared amid thunderous applause.
  • While giving an address at ISRO, PM Modi also emphasised the “crucial role” that women scientists played in the Chandrayaan-3 mission. “This mission’s female scientists have been instrumental in making it successful. This accomplishment just would not have been feasible without their assistance. Future generations will be inspired by them, he claimed.
  • In addition to this, PM Modi made a number of announcements, including renaming the location of Chandrayaan-3’s lunar landing site as “Tiranga Point.” He added that India had decided to give the location of the Moon’s Vikram lander’s crash on Chandrayaan-2 a name.
  • “You [the ISRO scientists] raised the nation to unprecedented heights. It was not a typical accomplishment, the prime minister noted.
  • “This trip highlights the effectiveness of our space research and programme. In his remarks at the ISRO’s Bengaluru headquarters, PM Modi also stated that “India is on the moon.”

At the Madurai Railway Junction, a massive fire starts aboard a train, killing 9 people.

  • At least 9 persons lost their lives and 20 others suffered critical injuries after a passenger train fire started inside the compartment on Saturday at the Madurai railway station in Tamil Nadu. The rescue efforts are currently under way.
  • There were 55 people on the affected coach, and six of the dead, according to IANS’ report, were from Uttar Pradesh. The people in a private party carriage ‘illegally smuggled’ a gas cylinder, according to a statement from Southern Railway, which started the fire in the train. When the firefighters from Madurai came on the spot, the fire was put out.
  • The party bus had left Lucknow on August 17 with plans to arrive in Chennai on Sunday and then travel back to Lucknow, according to the statement. When the fatal incident happened, the coach had been taken from the train and was being maintained at the Madurai Stabling Line.

Why did the fire start?

  • The fire started in the train coach when one of the passengers lit a gas cooker to brew coffee, according to Madurai District Collector MS Sangeetha. In a statement, Southern Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer, B. Guganesan, claimed that the passengers’ unlawful smuggling of a gas cylinder was what started the fire. Any flammable items, such as petrol cylinders, are prohibited for passengers to transport.

  • “Some party members in the private party coach were utilising the illegally smuggled cooking gas cylinder unofficially to prepare tea/snacks while the coach was stabled/parked, which resulted in the fire in the stabled/parked coach. When the carriage caught fire, the majority of the passengers were able to exit. Prior to the coach being detached, a few passengers had already disembarked at the platform, according to the release.
  • The train was parked in a yard one km from the Madurai railway station when the disaster took place as passengers were getting ready to leave for a darshan at the Meenakshi temple. Many passengers had already left the train when it arrived at the Madurai train station.
  • The Kollam-Chennai Egmore Ananthapuri Express, Train Number 16824, was to bring the passengers’ “party coach” back to Chennai tomorrow. From Chennai, the “party coach” was to travel back to Lucknow.
  • A group of railway officials, including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Additional Divisional Railway Manager (ADRM), and other divisional authorities, arrived at the scene of the accident to assess the situation.
  • The Railways Act of 1989’s sections 67, 164, and 165 make it illegal to transport combustible items such gas cylinders, crackers, acid, kerosene, petrol, thermic welding equipment, stoves, and explosives.
  • According to Souther Railway, the passengers of the private party coach had also signed a declaration in accordance with paragraph 9 of the railway manual stating that they would not be transporting any combustibles.

‘झारखंड के विकास में कांग्रेस का सकारात्मक योगदान रहा’

आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि सड़क बनाने की कीमत 18 करोड़ प्रति किलोमीटर से 250 करोड़ रुपए प्रति किलोमीटर किया गया। आयुष्मान भारत योजना में वित्तीय घोटाला है.  इसके अलावा अयोध्या डेवलपमेंट प्रोजेक्ट में ठेकेदारों को लाभ पहुंचाने, नेशनल हाईवे में नियमों का उल्लेख करते हुए 132 करोड़ रुपए की कथित वसूली का आरोप लगाया है। कांग्रेस नेता ने हल पर विमान इंजन की डिजाइन प्रोडक्शन में भी खामियों का आरोप लगाते हुए करोड़ों का नुकसान बताया है। ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय के वृद्धि विकलांग और विधवा पेंशन योजनाओं का पैसे अन्य योजना में प्रचार में खर्च करने का आरोप लगाया है। उन्होंने इस दौरान प्रधानमंत्री से कई सवाल भी पूछे हैं और कहा है कि प्रधानमंत्री इन सवालों का जवाब दें साथ ही ईडी और सीबीआई को भी इन मामलों में हस्तक्षेप करने का आग्रह किया। उन्होंने कहा कि अगर इन सब सवालों पर और सीएजी की रिपोर्ट पर कार्रवाई नहीं होती है तो 2024 में जनता जवाब देगी। इससे पहले प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष के दो साल पूरे होने पर केक काटा और कहा कि झारखंड के विकास में पार्टी का सकारात्मक योगदान रहा है. मौके पर जिला अध्यक्ष धनजय सिंह, कार्यकारी जिला प्रमुख सतीश केडिया, अशोक विश्वकर्मा, मदन विश्वकर्मा व अन्य नेता मौजूद थे।

On Thursday, the BRICS presidents decided to extend an invitation to six nations: Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other BRICS leaders, including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, made the news at a press conference during the 15th BRICS Summit. Virtual participation was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The BRICS alliance, which consists of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, has announced the addition of six additional members, marking a significant geopolitical milestone. The composition of the alliance has undergone a significant change as a result of this growth, which could alter the dynamics of international cooperation.

On August 24, South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa made history by announcing the names of the new members of the BRICS alliance. South Africa served as the host country for the recent BRICS meeting. Argentina, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, and Egypt are now members of the extended BRICS. This action not only diversifies the alliance but also gives emerging economies from other areas a forum to unite their objectives on the international front. The membership of these nations will commence in January.

This growth was the outcome of careful thought rather than an unexpected turn of events. Earlier reports from official sources claimed that the BRICS was in the midst of sending invitations to prospective new members. Through this tactical strategy, it may be possible to establish relationships with countries that are eager to work together in a coalition to advance the issues of the “Global South.”

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address the gathering during the BRICS conference. In his speech, Prime Minister Modi supported the expansion plan while arguing for a “multi-polar” order that is more fair and inclusive. He also used the occasion to emphasize India’s outstanding achievements in space exploration and research, highlighting its dedication to scientific developments.

The BRICS agree on all decisions. The decision to proceed was supported by all of the BRICS members. China, though, is driving the group’s expansion. Following the February BRICS formal meeting, China’s foreign ministry declared that “Membership expansion has become part of the core agenda of BRICS.”

Iran and the West have deteriorated ties. Therefore, a strong China-Russia influence can be seen in the invitation to Iran. Furthermore, what makes the BRICS move intriguing is that Iran and Saudi Arabia, once enemies, are now associate members. China is the country that buys the most oil from Saudi Arabia. It has mediated a settlement between Tehran and Riyadh.

Saudi Arabia has historically supported the United States, which fits in perfectly with the BRICS membership.

The West can infer from Russia and Iran’s participation that the two nations still have some allies abroad.

Additionally, Egypt and Ethiopia have long-standing ties with the United States.

The announcement of the sequel came after the success. Ayushmann Khurrana is back as Pooja, who can use her enchanted voice to win anyone over.   • Despite China’s assertion that India requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping to meet during the BRICS summit in South Africa, top government officials denied this and stated that there was a “pending request from the Chinese side.”
  • Government sources stated that there was a pending request for a bilateral meeting from China. However, according to the sources, the two presidents engaged in a “informal conversation” in the presidents Lounge at the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg.
  • The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested a conversation with President Xi Jinping on August 23, which took place outside of the BRICS conference, according to the Chinese foreign ministry.
  • The two leaders in the meeting decided to strive for “expeditious de-escalation” along the entire Line of Actual Control (LAC), where tensions have been high since June 2020, when the two sides fought in eastern Ladakh’s Galwan Valley.
  • Additionally, they decided to instruct representatives in their nations to push for a quick disengagement along the LAC.
  • On the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, President Xi Jinping and I had a conversation. The Prime Minister spoke with other BRICS presidents. The Prime Minister brought up India’s concerns over unresolved issues along the LAC and other locations along the India-China border in his talk with President Xi Jinping, Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra told reporters on Thursday.
  • The statement from President Xi emphasised that “improving China-India relations serves the common interests of the two countries and peoples, and also contributes to world peace, stability, and regional development.”
  • In the meantime, Modi brought up India’s concerns about the unresolved issues along the LAC when speaking to Xi, according to a briefing by the country’s foreign secretary Vinay Kwatra on Thursday.
  • According to Kwatra, “The prime minister emphasised that the preservation of peace and tranquilly in the border areas, as well as adhering to and respecting the LAC, are essential for the normalisation of the India-China relationship.”
  • The speaker continued, “In this regard, two leaders agreed to direct relevant officials to step up efforts at swift disengagement and de-escalation.”
  • India and China are at odds with one another.
  • Following the bloody fight in the Galwan Valley in June 2020 that resulted in the deaths of numerous soldiers, relations between India and China took a sharp turn for the worse. The war has been noted as the two sides’ most significant military conflict in decades. In order to address the boundary disputes, both nations have since held military-level discussions.
  • The 19th round of conversations between corps commanders was recently held between the two armies. The two parties “agreed to resolve the remaining issues in an expeditious manner and maintain the momentum of dialogue and negotiations through military and diplomatic channels” during the discussions, the Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
  • The statement also stated that “in the interim,” the two sides have agreed to keep the peace and tranquilly of the border regions.

  • The news of Windham Rotunda’s passing has completely devastated the pro wrestling industry, starting the day on an unexpectedly devastating note. The WWE superstar, also known by his ring name Bray Wyatt, was out of commission for several months due to an unexplained ailment, and now, sadly, it appears the same disease is what has stolen him from us.
  • For the uninitiated, Wyatt made his WWE comeback at Extreme Rules last year, and the reaction from the crowd was positive. Recently, a match that had been eagerly anticipated was to result from his feud with Bobby Lashley, but the plot was unexpectedly abandoned. Even Wyatt was not there, and there was no explanation as to why his tale had been abandoned. The professional wrestler had a life-threatening ailment, it was later discovered.
  • With a hidden health issue, Wyatt, whose actual name was Windham Rotunda, had been absent from the WWE for a number of months. He had been a member of WWE since 2009, with the exception of the brief period in 2021 and 2022 when he was unexpectedly let off. With tremendous fanfare and a suspenseful plot that included cryptic vignettes, Rotunda returned to WWE in September, which helped increase television viewership.
  • Levesque posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the devastating news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda — better known as Bray Wyatt — unexpectedly died away earlier today. We ask that everyone respect the family’s privacy at this time because our thoughts are with them.
  • Rotunda was descended from a wrestling lineage. His father Mike became well-known in the WWE as Irwin R. Schyster and in other promotions using either his real name or the ring name Michael Wallstreet. One of the most well-known wrestlers of the 1980s and the early 1990s, Barry Windham was also a former member of the illustrious Four Horsemen stable. He is Rotunda’s uncle. Taylor, Rotunda’s brother, has previously gone by the ring name Bo Dallas when competing for WWE.
  • JoJo Offerman, a former WWE ring announcer, and Windham Rotunda were wed. They had two children together, and Rotunda also had two children from a prior union. He had previously held the titles of both WWE and WWE Universal two times each.
  • In 2019, Rotunda reimagined himself as the otherworldly figure The Fiend while donning a horrific clown mask from a horror film. In kid-friendly skits called Firefly Funhouse, Bray Wyatt continued to appear, but a sinister alter ego known as The Fiend wrestled in his stead. Most of these were detailed, original concepts that Rotunda came up with on his own. Due to its almost indestructible status in the ring, The Fiend was a divisive figure, but it was also a creative leap and one of the most captivating things to appear on WWE television at the time.
  • The old Bray Wyatt, a good-guy figure who was reportedly haunted by former demons like The Fiend and Uncle Howdy, was played by Rotunda when he returned to WWE in 2018. He had previously been dismissed from WWE in 2021. In February, when Rotunda stopped appearing on television because to health problems, the plot was still being developed.
  • Always have a lot of respect and love for him and the Rotunda family, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson posted on Thursday on X. Loved his presence, his in-ring work, his promos, and his connection to the WWE community. Character that is extremely unusual, cool, and difficult to produce in the pro wrestling industry.

Aakhri  Sach

Tamannaah Bhatia starrer web series ‘Aakhri Sach’ is releasing on August 25 on Disney Plus Hotstar.

Tamannaah Bhatia plays the lead character in the crime investigation thriller series Aakhri Sach. The Burari massacres, which shocked not only Delhi but the entire country, are the basis for the story. Shivin Narang, Abhishek Banerjee, Rahul Bagga, and Kriti Vij play the main characters in the show.

With a single night, a lost family, an investigator on the case, and a plethora of possibilities, this true-life story shocked India. “Aakhri Sach” is a work of fiction based on real-life incidents. It is a crime investigation thriller that promises to solve mysteries and dive deeply into the lives of its protagonists.

Three generations of a family perish in the same night, and the mystery surrounding 11 murders centers on this.

The series is rated ‘A’ certificate, because of the violent and suicidal scenes.

‘BRO’ starring Pawan Kalyan and Sai Tej is coming to Netflix on August 25, 2023. It is an adaptation of the Tamil movie Vinodhaya Sitham which was released in 2021. It is a supernatural fantasy comedy movie so it will surely make you laugh out loud. The protagonist of the story is a man who constantly battles for time. But one day suddenly his life takes a big turn when he meets Time in the form of a human. 

 The series is rated ‘U’ certificate,

‘BRO’ is releasing on Netflix on August 25, 2023. 

Destined with you

On August 23, 2023, the eagerly awaited Korean drama Destined With You will debut on Netflix. Rowoon and Jo Bo-ah play the leading roles in the story. A lawyer (Rowoon) who is bound by a family curse and a government servant (Jo Bo-ah) who has a forbidden book that was hidden away 300 years ago and contains the key to the lawyer’s release are the subjects of the fantasy romantic drama.

The Netflix original series “Destined With You” released on August 23, 2023.

Web series ‘Ashoka’ has been streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar on 23 August.

Rosario Dawson returns in this eight-episode television series based on the hit film The Mandalorian to play Ahsoka Tano.

Technically a spin-off of Rosario Dawson’s portrayal of Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi, in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett,” the show is actually a continuation of two “Star Wars” animated series: “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels.”

The plot revolves around the amusing adventures of three young filmmakers as they navigate the fast-paced Punjabi Pop music industry. But things change when the bag is stolen and the rapper goes missing.
