सप्ताह भर से झुंड से बिछड़ा हाथी बना आतंक का कारण, घाघरा के ग्रामीणों में फैली दहशत

झारखंड के गुमला जिले के घाघरा थाना क्षेत्र में बीते एक सप्ताह से झुंड से बिछड़ा एक अकेला हाथी कई गांवों में आतंक मचाए हुए है। रात के अंधेरे में यह हाथी लगातार गांवों में घुसकर घरों को तोड़ रहा है, अनाज खा रहा है और सामानों को तहस-नहस कर रहा है, जिससे ग्रामीणों में डर और बेचैनी का माहौल है। वन विभाग की निष्क्रियता पर सवाल उठ रहे हैं क्योंकि स्थानीय लोग रातभर जागने को मजबूर हैं।

गुमला ज़िले के घाघरा थाना क्षेत्र में एक अकेला और आक्रामक हाथी बीते सात दिनों से ग्रामीणों के लिए सिरदर्द बना हुआ है। अपने झुंड से बिछड़ने के बाद यह हाथी लगातार हापामुनी और आसपास के गांवों में घुसकर उत्पात मचा रहा है।

ग्रामीणों ने बताया कि यह हाथी एक ही गांव में बार-बार लौट आता है। बीती रात हापामुनी गांव में सुनिल उरांव और महादेव उरांव के घरों पर इस हाथी ने हमला कर दिया। घनघोर बारिश और अंधेरे में, अचानक हुई इस घटना ने पूरे परिवार को सकते में डाल दिया। हाथी ने घर की दीवारें तोड़ीं और अंदर रखे अनाज व घरेलू सामान को चट कर दिया। स्थानीय लोगों के मुताबिक, यदि हाथी उनकी आवाज़ सुन लेता, तो वह जानलेवा हमला भी कर सकता था। किसी तरह सभी ने अपनी जान बचाई।

वन विभाग से ग्रामीणों ने मुआवजे की मांग की है, लेकिन अब तक कोई ठोस कार्रवाई नहीं हुई है। क्षेत्र के लोग बताते हैं कि हाथी दिन में कहीं छिपा रहता है और रात को गांवों में आकर तोड़फोड़ करता है। इससे ग्रामीण भय और चिंता में हैं, क्योंकि उन्हें हर रात जागकर अपनी और परिवार की सुरक्षा करनी पड़ रही है।

स्थानीय संगठनों और एनजीओ की भी चुप्पी पर सवाल खड़े हो रहे हैं। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि ये संस्थाएं और अधिकारी सिर्फ घटनाओं के बाद फोटोग्राफी और रिपोर्टिंग में व्यस्त रहते हैं, लेकिन वास्तविक समाधान की दिशा में कोई पहल नहीं होती।

गौरतलब है कि हर साल सारंडा जंगल से हाथियों का एक झुंड गुमला, सिमडेगा, लोहरदगा और खूंटी जिलों की ओर आता है। यह सिलसिला वर्षों से चला आ रहा है। विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि हाथियों की स्मृति शक्ति बहुत प्रबल होती है, जिसके कारण वे बार-बार उन्हीं रास्तों से आते हैं। यह हाथी भी संभवतः अपने पुराने रास्तों को याद रखते हुए क्षेत्र में पहुंचा है।

वन विभाग की भूमिका पर सवाल:

वन विभाग की भूमिका पर गंभीर प्रश्नचिह्न उठ रहे हैं। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि विभाग केवल पटाखे और टॉर्च बांटकर औपचारिकताएं पूरी करता है। मुआवजे की प्रक्रिया में पारदर्शिता का अभाव है और आंकड़ों की बाजीगरी कर रिपोर्ट को सौंप दिया जाता है।

वन्यजीव विशेषज्ञों ने बार-बार इस मुद्दे पर सतर्क किया है, लेकिन शासन-प्रशासन के स्तर पर स्थायी समाधान की कमी साफ झलकती है। ऐसे में सवाल यह है कि आखिर कब तक ग्रामीण अपनी सुरक्षा के लिए खुद ही संघर्ष करते रहेंगे?
