कार्डिनल तेलेस्फोर पी टोप्पो का 4 अक्टूबर को निधन हो गया. वह 83, वर्ष के थे.
तेलेस्फोर पी टोप्पो एशिया के पहले आदिवासी बिशप थे. उन्होंने दक्षिणी छोटानागपुर चर्च के विकास तथा छोटा नागपुर के शोषितों वंचितों के उत्थान में में अहम योगदान दिया.
गुमला जिले के एक छोटे से गांव से आकर रोम के पोप के कैबिनेट में हिस्सा पाने वाले पहले एशिया के पहले आर्च बिशॉप थे।
यहां यह बताना महत्वपूर्ण है कि आदमी पार्टी और राष्ट्रीय संयोजक श्री अरविंद केजरीवाल के बड़े प्रशंसक रहे थे कार्डिनल टोप्पो।
कार्डिनल ने 2019 में दिल्ली में आम आदमी पार्टी की बड़ी बहुमत से सरकार बनने के बाद सोशल मीडिया पर बयान जारी कर आम आदमी पार्टी सरकार को अपनी शुभकामनाएं प्रेषित की थी।
कार्डिनल के निधन से आम आदमी पार्टी परिवार मर्माहत है और कल पार्टी के प्रतिनिधिमंडल के रूप में प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष हरि सिंह, प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष नरेंद्र चौबे, प्रदेश प्रवक्ता सौरभ श्रीवास्तव, रांची महानगर के अध्यक्ष सत्येंद्र सिंह, रांची लोकसभा अध्यक्ष मनीष सिंह, रांची महानगर के सचिव विनय भूषण, युवा नेता प्रभात शर्मा और कई नेता और कार्यकर्ता आम आदमी पार्टी परिवार की ओर से प्रातः 10:00 बजे रांची के पुरुलिया रोड स्थित सेंट मेरी कैथेड्रल पहुंचकर कार्डिनल के पार्थिव शरीर का दर्शन कर उन्हें श्रद्धांजलि प्रस्तुत करेंगे और उनके अंतिम संस्कार में शामिल होंगे।
