गुमला में दहशत: जंगली हाथी का आतंक, कई घायल, तीन की मौत

गुमला जिले के पालकोट थाना क्षेत्र के तपकरा और डाहुपानी पंचायतों में एक आक्रोशित हाथी ने रविवार सुबह भारी तबाही मचाई। हाथी के हमले में तीन लोगों की मौत हो गई, जबकि कई अन्य घायल हो गए। वन विभाग की निष्क्रियता को लेकर ग्रामीणों में आक्रोश बढ़ता जा रहा है, क्योंकि पिछले कुछ दिनों से यह हाथी लगातार हमले कर रहा है।

सुबह-सुबह बरपा कहर, दंपति समेत कई घायल

रविवार तड़के करीब पांच बजे, तपकरा पंचायत में 55 वर्षीय ईमेल बा और उनकी पत्नी 45 वर्षीय कालरा बा जैसे ही घर से बाहर निकले, हाथी ने उन पर हमला कर दिया। हाथी ने अपनी सूंड और दांतों से दंपति को गंभीर रूप से घायल कर दिया। स्थानीय लोगों ने दोनों को बसिया रेफरल अस्पताल पहुंचाया, जहां से डॉक्टरों ने प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद गुमला सदर अस्पताल रेफर कर दिया।

तीन की मौत, कई गंभीर रूप से घायल

हाथी का आतंक यहीं नहीं थमा। देवगांव चापा टोली में उसने अजय मिंज पर हमला कर उन्हें घायल कर दिया, जबकि 60 वर्षीय किस्टोफ एक्का को पैरों तले कुचलकर मार डाला। इसके बाद तेतर टोली में 50 वर्षीय हेमवती देवी को भी हाथी ने कुचल दिया, जिससे उनकी मौके पर ही मौत हो गई।

रविवार को ही हाथी ने क्लेमेंट एक्का और अरविंद सिंह पर हमला कर उन्हें गंभीर रूप से घायल कर दिया। वन विभाग ने इन घायलों को 10-10 हजार रुपये की आर्थिक सहायता दी है।

वन विभाग की लापरवाही पर ग्रामीणों में आक्रोश

इस हाथी के हमले से ग्रामीणों में दहशत का माहौल है। पालकोट थाना क्षेत्र के अलावा जारी प्रखंड के जरमाना और सीसी पतराटोली में भी इस बिगड़ैल हाथी ने एक व्यक्ति को मौत के घाट उतार दिया।

स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि वन विभाग की निष्क्रियता के कारण जान-माल की हानि हो रही है। हाथी के आतंक से लोग अपने घरों से बाहर निकलने से डर रहे हैं, लेकिन अब तक इस समस्या के समाधान के लिए कोई ठोस कदम नहीं उठाया गया है। ग्रामीणों ने वन विभाग और प्रशासन से अविलंब कार्रवाई की मांग की है ताकि और अधिक जानें न जाएं।
