Users of iPhones are cautioned by Apple not to sleep close to their devices while they are charging

0
  • Apple has issued a warning about the possible risks of sleeping close to a charging phone, including the possibility of fire, electric shock, injury, and property damage. Users are strongly advised to avoid putting their phones beneath blankets or pillows while they are connected to a power source and to make sure they are charging in well-ventilated settings.
  • The potential risks of sleeping close to a charging phone have been highlighted by Apple in a warning to phone users. The business warns consumers about the dangers of sleeping next to a device that is linked to a charging cord in a service announcement that emphasises the significance of proper phone charging. There is a chance of fire, electric shock, injury, and damage to the phone and property, among other dangers. Apple strongly urges consumers to make sure their phones are charging while connected to a cable in a space with appropriate ventilation in order to prevent these risks.

  • The greater risk of the gadget overheating is another reason why charging a phone inside a blanket or pillow is discouraged. The important message from Apple is unmistakable: “Do not sleep on a device, power adapter, or wireless charger, and avoid placing them under a blanket, pillow, or your body while connected to a power source.” It is advised to only use or charge iPhones, power adapters, and wireless chargers in areas that have good ventilation. Apple emphasises the potential risk of using chargers from other brands, particularly less expensive models that might not adhere to the same safety requirements as Apple’s branded chargers. Apple suggests consumers choose “Made for iPhone” cords that follow global safety standards in order to allay any worries about this.
  • While it is possible to charge an iPhone with third-party cables and power adapters that adhere to USB 2.0 or later standards and that follow applicable safety requirements, the company notes that other adapters may not comply with these safety criteria, creating serious hazards of harm or even death. Apple’s caution goes beyond simply dozing off while charging.
  • Additionally, it emphasises the significance of avoiding charging mobile devices close to liquids or bodies of water and the urgency of throwing out damaged chargers as soon as possible. Using damaged cords or chargers, or charging while there is moisture present, can result in fires, electric shocks, injuries, or damage to both the iPhone and other property. Apple’s final piece of advise is to put safety first by carefully observing their instructions. Users can protect themselves, their phones, and their surroundings by following these guidelines from potential dangers.

Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher’s upcoming films and great performances will move you, and he made his father cry with his excellent performance in Ghoomer.

0

The most recent movie by Ghoomer R. Balki is a sports drama about a cricket player who loses her right arm and discovers how to take back her life.

After witnessing Abhishek Bachchan’s Ghoomer, Amitabh Bachchan broke down in tears. Amitabh Bachchan discussed his son Abhishek’s role in the upcoming sports drama Ghoomer. Early on Tuesday, Amitabh wrote on his blog that he had seen Ghoomer twice and had cried each time. Amitabh also lauded Ghoomer’s director, R Balki. Along with Abhishek Bachchan, Saiyami Kher is a cast member of Ghoomer.

Saiyami Kher arrives to greet her coach Abhishek Bachchan with a happy Diwali and tells him it’s a day to be joyful. It’s the evening of Diwali. He demands that she bowl under a torch while donning a saree in exchange. She pulls it off flawlessly. The scenario demonstrates how one can push their limits and is exquisitely written and filmed. And there are several instances like this in Ghoomer. Ghoomer draws you into a world where heart and reason collide, whether you’re practicing on a small pitch in your garden or competing in an English stadium. A strong sense of self-belief and a never-say-die mentality are emphasized in this well-made movie. It simultaneously motivates and empowers.

Director R Balki doesn’t waste any time getting to the point about what he wants to express or show through the movie, and he jumps right into the journey of cricketer Anina (Saiyami), who has a goal of making the Indian National Women’s Cricket team. In addition, fate has other plans for her if she is chosen. She suffers an accident and loses her right arm a few days before she departs for the tournament. She had given up on ever playing cricket again and has suicidal thoughts until one day when Padam Singh Sodhi, also known as Paddy sir (Abhishek), a former cricketer who was unsuccessful and disillusioned and is now an alcoholic, knocks on her door. She arrives at his home the following day seeking a second shot at winning the game, at life, and in both. Ghoomer walks us through Paddy’s transformation from a batter to a coach and a left-arm bowler.

Additionally, a line in the script bugged me a little bit: “Pichle over ke nrityakala ke baad wapas cricket,” uttered by one of the commentators regarding Anina’s groomer-style bowling. I thought it somehow went against Ghoomer’s entire purpose and ignored the innovative bowling technique that had everyone in awe. Your jaw will drop when you see Ghoomer because to its powerful narrative, captivating writing, outstanding performers, and deft blending of entertainment and message that makes you feel proud and content. The movie delivers in all respects as pure family entertainment to be enjoyed in theatres. However, as the creative liberties become a little too extravagant towards the conclusion (the match scenes), the movie becomes a little too predictable and audience-pleasing. Can a one-armed spin bowler who is unable to bat or field properly earn a position on India’s national cricket team? Are public attention and the selectors’ commitment to fair opportunity enough to change the rules? Despite the numerous liberties taken by the filmmakers, Ghoomer is an inspiring story about the power of hope and second chances. What transpires if everything is snatched from you in a matter of minutes? You take it back. “Woh galat hai,” kisisay “koi cheez bewaja cheeni jaye.” After watching this, you can tell how devoted to cricket Abhishek, Saiyami, and Balki

TikTok is no longer allowed on government devices in New York City due to security issues

0

  • Security reasons still prevent TikTok from being used in India. It’s intriguing to observe that it appears that a number of state governments in America are also paying attention to similar concerns. The state of Montana in the western US announced in May that the app would be completely banned beginning in 2019. TikTok’s parent business, ByteDance, has connections to China, according to Montana, who claimed that this presents security risks. A similar ban is now being implemented in New York City, primarily for government workers. The short video app can still be used by those who aren’t employed by the government.
  • Mayor Eric Adams’ spokesperson Jonah Allon stated in a statement on Wednesday that the city’s Cyber Command has assessed that the software “posed a security threat to the city’s technical networks.” Employees will no longer have access to TikTok and its website from city-owned devices and networks unless city agencies remove the app within 30 days, according to the NYT.With limited exceptions, TikTok has been prohibited in New York State for more than three years on mobile devices that are provided by the government.
  • The prohibition, which The Verge first reported, was met with TikTok’s denial of comment, according to the NYT.With videos showcasing its employees and parodies referencing new trash collection schedules, the city’s Department of Sanitation has unintentionally become a TikTok favourite, gaining close to 50,000 followers. The department “comes across in its TikToks as a bunch of genuine, hard-working salt-of-the-earth folks,” according to the Curbed site of New York magazine, which complimented the account last year. The account received a further boost last year when a statement made by Jessica Tisch, the city’s sanitation commissioner, went popular on TikTok: “The rats are undoubtedly going to despise this announcement. We, not the rats, are in charge of this city.
  • In 2020, the Trump administration first suggested banning TikTok, but a US court rejected the proposal on the grounds that there were no discernible security dangers. President Joe Biden subsequently changed the directives. In addition, a number of other states—including Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, and Louisiana—have also put a prohibition on government-owned devices into effect.
  • Users still have limited options in India because TikTok is still illegal there. Additionally betting on TikTok being blocked in the nation, Meta introduced Reels in 2020. Short videos have also been added to other apps including Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter (now X).
  • While some TikTok users may be saddened by the loss of such accounts, they can still watch Empire State-related content on @NYGov, the official TikTok account for New York State. Recently, @NYGov parodied the recent “girl dinner” trend with a video extolling a “New York State girl dinner” consisting of pizza, Hudson Valley cheese, Tate’s cookies, and bagels, as reported by the New York Times.

Taali Review: Sushmita sen gives an outstanding performance in her new series Taali

0

Based on the real-life experiences of transgender rights advocate Shreegauri Sawant, Taali charts her journey from being born a boy to a middle-class family to finally recognizing her calling and embarking on a difficult road.

The story of a trans woman who has faced fights to gain equality and identity is the starting point of Taali written by Kshitij Patwardhan’s (credited for both the story and the screenplay). Most city-dwelling cis-gendered people receive two things on a plate. There are times when Sushmita, the show, speaks to the audience in a most sympathetic way. Even if it doesn’t quite succeed, it makes an effort to see Shreegauri Sawant as a human rather than as someone who must go around giving identities to individuals who are having trouble with their pronouns.

Kshitij Patwardhan wrote the script for the show, which was also directed by Ravi Jadhav. Both the writing and the narration are excellent. You will experience shivers in some images and tears in others as you try to comprehend how transgender people were treated.  The most emotionally taxing of these events was Gauri Sawant’s estrangement from her policeman-father, which is how the program connects the major turning points of her adventurous life. Nandu Madhav portrays this character admirably. She grows up in a conservative setting, which makes the process much more difficult as she struggles to understand her physiological and emotional confusions.

Gauri must face hostile forces both inside and beyond the transgender community as she transforms from a girl trapped in a boy’s body yearning for acceptance into a confident transwoman to file a petition before the Supreme Court of India for recognition of her community as the third gender. There are pimps and owners of brothels on the one hand. On the other hand, she is hindered by self-appointed orthodoxy guardians and powerful individuals (one of whom is the dean of a hospital, played by Ananth Mahadevan, who takes the brunt of her agression).

Gauri’s journey toward claiming her gender identification is rife with controversy. She cultivates both allies and foes. She gravitates toward advocacy aimed at safeguarding the legal rights of transgenders as her network grows and her fame grows.

Taali, as she put it, is significantly more dependent on Sushmita than on those who initially set out to succeed. The first idea in the show is excellent. To a stereotypical white journalist, Shreegauri Sawant is presenting her narrative in chapters. Since the moment she was born, when she was a boy, she had wanted to be a mother. The narrative progresses as she matures. But for the most part, Taali’s execution only goes so far. There is no deep dive into the life of this inspirational figure. We never meet her alone, in her happiness or doom, the door is always open for other characters to walk in, and even those characters are paper thin one-tone individuals.

Ankur Bhatia portrays a gay activist who is also fighting for equality, to mention just one of the other roles. He does mention that his battle pales in comparison to Sawant’s, but we are never given any further details. What makes him? The show also never explores Gauri’s parenthood, despite the fact that she has always desired to become a mother. She never describes how she had her first child or how she raised them. We first see her in a scene where she sells her gold bracelets to get money for her children; nothing more is said about that later.

Sushmita Sen’s outstanding performance pulls the series through those moments where it starts to lose steam. This is without a doubt the actress’s best performance of her career; she has nailed it. The movie’s supporting cast is also pretty strong. Suvrat Joshi, Krutika Deo (young Ganesh), Ankur Bhatia, and Sheetal Kale, among others, provide excellent support.

0

Do you enjoy scary and exciting things? Do you enjoy visiting weird and spooky places? Afterwards, you must explore these eerie locations in India. There are almost 100 haunted locations in India, but we’ve chosen the top 10, which you simply must visit. • Bhangarh Fort

One of the most well-known haunted locations in India is Bhangarh Fort in Rajasthan. The Archaeological Survey of India has proclaimed the Bhangarh Fort Ruins, which are situated in the Alwar district, to be haunted after dark. According to legend, Ratnavati, the princess of Bhangarh, who was then regarded as the most beautiful lady in the world, was the object of love for the local tantric during the sixteenth century. This lover’s obsession led him to use black magic oil to entice the princess. When the princess discovered his wicked plans, she dumped the oil upon a boulder, which slid towards the lover and murdered him. He cursed that the entire hamlet would perish and become ruins just before he passed away. Since then, the village is left in ruins and haunted by the ghost of this jilted lover.

  • Lambi Dehar Mines

This abandoned mine, which is 10 kilometres from Mussoorie and is several kilometres long, is one of India’s most haunted locations and adds to the gloomy atmosphere. According to the legend, ineffective mining techniques caused about 50000 mineworker fatalities here in the 1990s. The employees passed away in agony from lung disease and coughing. Since then, visitors have claimed unexplained occurrences near the location, including helicopter crashes and audible pain-induced weeping and sobbing.

  • Shaniwarwada Fort

Shaniwarwada Fort is a historical landmark that is frequently visited in Pune. However, it also has a creepy aspect, which adds to its intrigue. The fort was a focal point for Marathas and Peshwas till independence. It was constructed by Maratha emperor Bajirao I for his wife Kashibai. Narayanrao, Nana Saheb’s 16-year-old youngest son, took over as his successor. Until he was an adult, his uncle Raghunathrao was in control of the state’s affairs because he was a minor. As a result of the jealousy that resulted, Raghnathrao’s wife hired tribal members to kill Narayanrao, the rightful heir. Screaming, “Save me Uncle,” the small kid went into his uncle’s quarters, but instead of saving him, he was killed and put into the river. People now hear Narayanrao screaming for aid or racing through hallways on every full moon night.

The following are some of India’s newest and most eerie locations that are sure to give you the chills. We have chosen the most haunted cities in these cities even if there aren’t many. All of these eerie locations are found in convenient locations. From hotels in Mumbai or Goa, it is simple to travel to the paranormal church.

After crossing the danger mark, the Yamuna’s water level falls

0
  • After briefly surpassing the danger line of 205.33 metres on Tuesday as a result of excessive rain in the river’s higher catchment areas during the previous two days, the Yamuna’s water level in Delhi started to decline on Wednesday morning.
  • The historic railway bridge in the capital had a water level of 203.35 metres as of Monday evening at 7 o’clock. This result is little over one metre below the warning threshold of 204.5 metres and almost two metres below the critical level of 205.33 metres. Experts acknowledge that the Yamuna’s water levels may be creeping closer to the dangerous point when the higher terrains of the Himalayas see another round of intense rainfall.
  • At 9 o’clock at night, the flow rate at the Hathnikund barrage in the Yamunanagar district of Haryana was about 27,000 cusecs, which is considered modest during the monsoon season. Low-level flooding may happen in a few spots along the river, according to a Delhi government official in the irrigation and flood control department, but a serious crisis is unlikely.
  • A severe downpour in the nation’s capital and the upper catchment areas of the Yamuna river earlier in July caused catastrophic flooding in Delhi. On July 13, the Yamuna reached a record height of 208.66 metres, breaking its previous record and entering the city more deeply than it had in more than 40 years.
  • As a result, during the floods, over 27,000 people had to be evacuated, and the losses suffered in terms of property, enterprises, and profits totaled crores of rupees. Beginning on July 10, the river flowed continuously above the 205.33-meter danger mark for eight days.
  • The catchment area for the Yamuna river system includes portions of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi. Around 41,000 people live in Delhi’s low-lying riverside neighbourhoods, which are thought to be susceptible to flooding. Despite the land being owned by the Delhi Development Authority, the revenue department, and private persons, encroachments on the river’s floodplain have happened over time.
  • Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are still suffering from the devastation caused by the rain. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “red alert” for numerous areas in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh and predicted “heavy to hefty rains” for the upcoming 24 hours amid nonstop rain.
  • The “red alert” is expected to eventually become a “orange alert,” according to the weather service. Due to extended periods of rain, the hill states are experiencing a series of disasters. The number of people killed in Himachal Pradesh as a result of recent rains has increased to 55. Landslides, flash floods, and cloudbursts are seriously endangering lives, causing property damage, and forcing a large number of people to flee their homes.
  • Near the river in Delhi, there are about 41,000 residents who live in low-lying regions that are thought to be susceptible to floods. Even though the Delhi Development Authority, the revenue department, and private persons own the land, encroachments on the river’s floodplain have happened over time.
  • Floods in the city mostly affect the northeast, east, central, and southeast sectors. The irrigation and flood control department’s research on “Urban Flooding and its Management” lists east Delhi as being in the floodplain region and being particularly vulnerable to flooding.

Virat Kohli Denounces False Report About Alibaug Farmhouse Pitch Construction

0

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has vehemently denied a shocking news story that stated he was building a cricket pitch at his home in Alibaug. Kohli has denied the claim, which quickly gained traction on social media platforms.

Virat and his actress-wife Anushka Sharma, two of the most talked-about stars in the entertainment industry, have bought an eight-acre property in Zirad village. Rested for the entire T20I series between India and the West Indies, former Indian skipper Kohli recently visited the construction site in Maharashtra.

Power couple Virat and Anushka reportedly had plans to construct a cricket field at their opulent Alibaug home, according to Times of India news article. Kohli, however, has dispelled the rumors by posting a notable comment on social media. On Tuesday, Kohli clarified the situation on Instagram and called the development fake news. “Bachpan se jo akhbaar Padha hai, wo bhi fake news chaapne lage ab (Newspapers which I have read since childhood, have also started publishing fake news.),” Kohli mentioned in his Instagram post through Stories.

The news organization has since withdrawn the report, noting in an update that “This article has been removed. We regret any inconvenience we may have caused’’.

Users also expressed doubts about the Times of India’s reliability as a source of news on social media.

After the media outlet said that the former India captain was eager to have a cricket pitch on his opulent property, Kohli responded. Kohli is one of the most popular athletes on the Instagram app , with over 255 million followers. A prior story claimed Kohli had purchased a second home in Alibaug the previous year. The senior Indian team hitter paid INR 36 lakh in stamp duty for the sale of his 2,000 square foot property in Alibaug, which cost him INR 6 crore.

Recently, inaccurate allegations about Kohli’s Instagram profits have surfaced. The great batter is the third-richest athlete on the social networking platform, charging $1,384,000, or more than Rs 11.45 crore, for each post, according to a story in Hopper HQ. He is third only to Cristiano Ronaldo who commands $3,234,000 or Rs 26.76 crore per post and Lionel Messi, who commands $2,597,000 or Rs 21.49 crore for a post. Virat Kohli, who has 256 million Instagram followers, quickly went on social media to refute the allegation after it made news. Taking to his official X account on Saturday morning, Kohli said he is grateful for whatever he has received in his life but the reports regarding his social media earning are false. “While I am grateful and indebted to all that I’ve received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true,” he said.

Meanwhile, The 34-year-old is preparing for the upcoming Asia Cup. In his prior white-ball assignment against the West Indies in the Caribbean, run-machine Kohli did not bat for Rohit Sharma’s Team India.

With 350 crore in worldwide box office receipts after just 7 days, Rajinikanth’s film Jailer is the highest-grossing Tamil hit of 2023.

0

The movie came out on August 10. In India, the jailer has made 174.15 crore in all languages. According to a Sacnilk report, the Tamil version has made 139.05 crores in the first five days of its debut in India. According to the report, the Hindi version brought in a total of 1.25 crore while the Telugu version garnered 32.55 crore.

When it debuted on Thursday, August 10, the movie took in an initial total of 48.35 crore (all languages) in India. The movie’s second-day earnings of 25.75 crores represented a significant decline. Over the weekend, the collections went up. Jailer saw considerable growth even on Monday when it generated 23.55 crore on its fifth day in India.

The Indian box office is approaching 400 crore. The Hindi releases of Gadar 2 and OMG 2 ignited ticket booths across the day after Jailer opened in theatres. The Producers Guild of India (PGI) and the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) released a joint statement applauding the audience for their enthusiastic response, which resulted in a combined weekend revenue of more than 390 crores. Together, OMG 2, Gadar 2, Jailer, and Bhola Shankar contributed to the total.

The seasoned actor portrays Muthuvel Pandian in the movie, a retired jailer who spends his free time assisting in the filming of movies for his grandson’s YouTube channel. Trouble comes knocking at Muthu’s door when his son Arjun (Vasanth Ravi), a diligent police officer, delves deeply into an idol smuggling ring. Muthu returns to the world he freely left behind, blaming it all on his sincerity, which has evidently rubbed off on his son.

Nelson’s first three films all featured very straightforward stories that were enhanced by the director’s clever concepts, aside from the amazing graphics, absurd humor, and lead characters with deadpan faces; Jailer is no exception. In fact, Jailer may remind older audiences of Thangappathakkam (1974), while younger audiences are sure to be reminded of Kamal Haasan’s most recent smash blockbuster Vikram. Both recent films are about fathers who were previously officials in service but are now out for revenge, with their trusted connections, to avenge their son’s demise, aside from starring renowned stars in age-appropriate roles. The similarities, however, end there because Jailer is an entire cinematic world condensed into a single film, whereas Vikram is a page from one. Nelson crams a lot of characters into Jailer, and although most of them only have a small amount of screen time, they all nearly seem to fit together like the parts of a big puzzle

Jailer’s racy screenplay serves as the film’s main pillar, and from the very beginning, we are thrust into the action. The movie picks up steam until the interval as soon as Muthu leaves on a mission. The second part of the movie is when it starts to veer a little too much into an erratic area. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar’s cameos are welcome additions, but other characters that are introduced in the second half aren’t as well-received.

Additionally, there are a few passable action scenes that are accentuated by Anirudh’s catchy tune and brilliantly captured by Vijay Kartik Kannan. Additionally, there are a few mass scenes that we missed in Nelson’s last picture Beast. Because Annaatthe and Darbar, Rajini’s most recent two films, were both disappointing, to put it mildly, they largely stay on familiar terrain this time around. Even though Jailer is far from ideal, Rajinikanth’s commanding presence and Nelson’s strong screenplay make it a remarkable comeback for both the actor and director.
