सन् 1947 में भारत-पाक विभाजन के दौरान, पाकिस्तान के पंजाब प्रांत से कुछ सिख परिवार गुमला आए और यहीं बस गए। आज गुमला में लगभग 100 सिख परिवार मिलजुलकर रहते हैं।

बीपीओ दिलदार सिंह, जिन्होंने इस प्रकाश पर्व के अवसर पर अपने अनुभव साझा किए, ने बताया कि इन परिवारों ने न केवल अपने परिजनों की परंपराओं को जीवित रखा, बल्कि गुमला की सांस्कृतिक विविधता को भी समृद्ध किया है।

गुरु नानक देव जी के आदर्शों को सिख समुदाय ने न केवल अपने जीवन में उतारा है, बल्कि अन्य समुदायों के साथ इसे साझा कर समाज में एकता और सद्भाव का संदेश दिया है।

गुमला स्थित श्री गुरु सिंह सभा गुरुद्वारे में आयोजित यह कार्यक्रम एक सांस्कृतिक उत्सव का रूप ले चुका है। सप्ताह भर चलने वाले इस आयोजन में विभिन्न धार्मिक अनुष्ठान, भजन-कीर्तन, और लंगर का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।
