जिले में सड़क सुरक्षा को लेकर प्रशासन एक्शन मोड में है। उपायुक्त प्रेरणा दीक्षित और पुलिस अधीक्षक हरीश बिन ज़मां के संयुक्त निर्देश पर सोमवार को घाघरा थाना के पास मोटरसाइकिल चेकिंग अभियान के साथ सड़क सुरक्षा जागरूकता कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। अभियान की अगुवाई मोटरयान निरीक्षक रॉबिन अजय सिंह ने की।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान हेलमेट नहीं पहनने वाले 12 दोपहिया चालकों को रोका गया और उन्हें यातायात नियमों की जानकारी दी गई। साथ ही, रोड सेफ्टी काउंसलिंग के जरिए उन्हें बताया गया कि हेलमेट, सीट बेल्ट जैसे सुरक्षा उपकरणों का इस्तेमाल क्यों ज़रूरी है। अधिकारियों ने स्पष्ट किया कि ये उपाय स्वयं की और अन्य यात्रियों की जान की सुरक्षा के लिए अहम हैं।
जांच के दौरान जिन वाहन चालकों ने आवश्यक दस्तावेज प्रस्तुत नहीं किए, उनसे ₹2000 तक की जुर्माना राशि वसूली गई। वहीं, नियमों की अनदेखी करने वाले कुछ वाहनों को जब्त कर घाघरा थाना परिसर में रखा गया है।
प्रशासन ने दो टूक कहा है कि सड़क सुरक्षा नियमों का उल्लंघन बर्दाश्त नहीं किया जाएगा। भविष्य में भी इस तरह के अभियान लगातार चलाए जाएंगे, ताकि आम जनता में सड़क सुरक्षा को लेकर चेतना और अनुशासन विकसित किया जा सके।
इस अवसर पर मोटरयान निरीक्षक समेत संबंधित कर्मी मौके पर मौजूद रहे और सुरक्षित यातायात के लिए सहयोग करने की अपील की गई।
