महामाया मंदिर: 1100 साल पुरानी धरोहर, आस्था और इतिहास का अद्भुत मिलन

गुमला : गुमला जिले के घाघरा प्रखंड स्थित हापामुनी गांव का श्री श्री 108 महामाया मंदिर नवरात्र के अवसर पर श्रद्धालुओं की आस्था का केंद्र बन जाता है। नागवंशी राजाओं द्वारा लगभग 1,100 वर्ष पूर्व स्थापित यह प्राचीन मंदिर न केवल धार्मिक दृष्टि से महत्वपूर्ण है, बल्कि अपनी रहस्यमयी परंपराओं और ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं के कारण भी विशेष पहचान रखता है।

मंदिर की अनोखी परंपराएं

मंदिर के गर्भगृह में स्थापित महामाया मां की मूर्ति सदियों पुरानी है, जो एक मंजुषा (बक्सा) में बंद रहती है। मान्यता है कि देवी को खुली आंखों से देखना वर्जित है। वर्ष में एक बार, चैत कृष्ण पक्ष की परेवा तिथि को डोल जतरा महोत्सव के दौरान मुख्य पुजारी आंखों पर पट्टी बांधकर देवी की विशेष पूजा-अर्चना करते हैं। इसके बाद मूर्ति पुनः उसी मंजुषा में रख दी जाती है।

मंदिर प्रांगण में महामाया माता की एक अन्य प्रतिमा भी स्थापित है, जहां आम श्रद्धालु नियमित पूजा-अर्चना कर अपनी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण करते हैं। नवरात्र में यहां हजारों की संख्या में भक्त जुटते हैं और मंदिर परिसर मेले का रूप ले लेता है।

ऐतिहासिक घटनाओं से जुड़ा मंदिर

इतिहासकारों के अनुसार, विक्रम संवत 965 में इस मंदिर की स्थापना नागवंश के 22वें राजा गजाधर राय और राम मोहन राय के पुत्र द्वारा 869 ईस्वी से 905 ईस्वी के बीच कराई गई थी। बाद में इसकी देखभाल उन्होंने अपने गुरु हरिनाथ को सौंप दी।मंदिर से जुड़ा एक चर्चित प्रसंग 1889 के कॉल विद्रोह के दौरान घटित हुआ। उस समय मंदिर का द्वार पूर्व दिशा की ओर था। विद्रोहियों ने चुनौती दी कि यदि देवी में शक्ति है तो मंदिर का द्वार पश्चिम की ओर हो जाए। कहते हैं कि तत्काल ही जोरदार आवाज के साथ मंदिर का दरवाजा पूर्व से पश्चिम की ओर बदल गया।इसी विद्रोह के दौरान हापामुनी गांव के बिरजू राम पर संकट आया। किंवदंती है कि माता महामाया के आशीर्वाद से उन्होंने अकेले ही अनेक आक्रमणकारियों का सामना किया, लेकिन देवी की चेतावनी के बावजूद पीछे मुड़कर देखने पर उनका सिर धड़ से अलग हो गया। यह कथा आज भी ग्रामीणों की श्रद्धा और आस्था को जीवित रखे हुए है।

आस्था और आकर्षण का केंद्र

महामाया मंदिर आज भी नवरात्र और चैत पर्व पर विशाल जनसमूह को आकर्षित करता है। यहाँ न केवल धार्मिक श्रद्धा जुड़ी है बल्कि यह मंदिर गुमला जिले की सांस्कृतिक धरोहर और इतिहास का प्रतीक भी माना जाता है।
