गुमला जिले के रायडीह थाना क्षेत्र के पोगरा ग्राम के समीप एक दर्दनाक सड़क दुर्घटना में चैनपुर थाना क्षेत्र के कोडकेरा निवासी असित टोप्पो (उम्र लगभग 28 वर्ष) की मौत हो गई। बताया गया कि असित अपनी बाइक से चैनपुर से गुमला की ओर जा रहा था, तभी बाइक के सामने अचानक बिल्ली आ गई। उसे बचाने के प्रयास में बाइक अनियंत्रित होकर फिसल गई और असित सड़क पर सिर के बल गिर पड़ा।
हेलमेट नहीं पहनने के कारण उसके सिर में गंभीर चोट आई और मौके पर ही उसकी मौत हो गई। दुर्घटना के बाद ग्रामीणों ने तुरंत रायडीह थाना पुलिस को सूचना दी। पुलिस टीम घटनास्थल पर पहुंची और शव को कब्जे में लेकर गुमला सदर अस्पताल भेजा, जहां पोस्टमार्टम के बाद शव परिजनों को सौंप दिया गया।
पुलिस ने क्षतिग्रस्त बाइक को जब्त कर लिया है। ग्रामीणों और पुलिस ने हादसे पर दुख व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि अगर असित हेलमेट पहने होता तो उसकी जान बच सकती थी।
पुलिस ने दोपहिया वाहन चालकों से अपील की है कि सड़क पर सफर के दौरान हमेशा हेलमेट पहनें और सावधानी बरतें।
