Rajinikanth speaks out after receiving criticism for touching UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s feet.

Days after several users of social media platforms criticized actor Rajinikanth for touching Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s feet. Rajinikanth recently visited the CM of Uttar Pradesh at his home in Lucknow. Rajinikanth recently stated that he “habits to touch the feet of Yogis or Sanyasis,” according to news agency ANI.

Rajinikanth arrived in Chennai on Monday night following a series of journeys. He addressed the controversy surrounding his conduct of touching Yogi Adityanath’s feet during a brief press conference at the airport.

“Even if they are younger than me, I have a tendency of touching the feet of yogis or sanyasis and asking for their blessings. Only I accomplished that” he claimed.

The deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya, attended a special screening of the movie Jailer that was organized for Rajinikanth when he was in Lucknow.

After visiting the Himalayas, the Tamil actor traveled to other locations, including Ayodhya, where he met with political figures such as UP Governor Anandiben Patel, Samajwadi Party leader and former CM Akhilesh Yadav, and Governor C P Radhakrishnan, a senior member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Tamil Nadu. “After four years I went to the Himalayas, the trip was very good. I wholeheartedly thank Tamil people and everyone around the world for making Jailer a massive hit. I thank Kalanidhi Maran (producer, Sun Pictures), for encouraging us to deliver a good film without worrying about the budget,” he said, also congratulating the film’s director Nelson Dhilipkumar, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and other crew members.

On his meeting with various political leaders, Rajnikanth said he met them out of courtesy and there was no other reason.

Tamil Nadu BJP chief on Rajinikanth touching Yogi Adityanath’s feet

On Tuesday, K Annamalai, the leader of the Tamil Nadu BJP, spoke out in favor of actor Rajinikanth, who is at the center of a scandal after touching Yogi Adityanath’s feet during a trip to Lucknow. Rajinikanth was “showing respect,” according to the BJP leader.

“Yogi ji is the head of the Gorakhpur mutt. People in Uttar Pradesh call him ‘Maharaj’. So, if Rajinikanth falls on his feet, what’s wrong with it? This doesn’t mean one person is lesser than the other. It only shows that Rajinikanth respects Yogi ji and his spirituality. He has only shown his love and affection to Yogi ji,” Annamalai said.

He also said, “There will be no end if some jobless political parties and their leaders start criticising eve.

Rajinikanth talks about Jailer

Rajinikanth also expressed his gratitude to the public for making his most recent film Jailer a “grand success,” according to news agency PTI. He declined to discuss politics when he was questioned about the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Rajinikanth hosted a special showing of his movie Jailer while he was in Uttar Pradesh, and Keshav Prasad Maurya, the deputy chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, attended. Rajnikanth also met Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party there.
