Karnataka: A 20-year-old woman stabbed to death for rejecting a man’s love advance

A tragic incident occurred in Hubballi, Karnataka, a 20-year-old was stabbed to death by a man who was reportedly in love with her. The accused stabbed her after she rejected her love advances, according to police reports on Wednesday. The tragic incident unfolded at 5:30 in the Moring. The man identified as Girish Savant entered the house at Veerapur Oni of the girl identified as Anjali and stabbed her with a knife multiple times in her sleep, she died on the spot. Despite the family’s efforts to thwart the attacker, the assailant managed to kill the woman and escape the scene. The victim’s sister Yashoda claimed that the murderer had threatened to kill Anjali the same way as Neha Hiremath, who was stabbed by her former classmate and caused a huge commotion.

According to Anjali’s sister” Girish had been persistently harassing my sister despite her refusal to his love advances, he continued to pressure her. He even coerced her into accompanying him to Mysuru. Anjali’s grandmother stated that the family reported Savant’s harassment to the Bendigeri police, but their complaint was not given proper attention. She continued, saying, “My granddaughter would be alive if the police had taken the matter seriously”, although they had informed the police verbally but had not made a formal complaint.  The reason for the murder has not yet been verified by the authorities. Gopal Byakod, the SP of Hubballi Dharwad, stated,”

A spine-chilling incident involving the murder of a girl named Anjali has been reported in the vicinity of Veerpurra Oni Village. The murderer fatally stabbed her early in the morning around 5-6 am inside their residence. We have initiated an investigation into the case to find the motive behind this unfortunate event.”. The police are investigating the case and launched a search operation to capture the suspect.
