गुमला – गुमला जिला के बिशुनपुर-गुरदारी थाना क्षेत्र के चापाटोली गांव में 12 वर्षीय छात्रा चांदनी असुर पागल कुत्ते के काटने के बाद हाइड्रोफोबिया से पीड़ित हो गई है। लगभग एक माह पूर्व चांदनी को एक पागल कुत्ते ने घर में घुसकर दोनों हाथों पर काट लिया था, जिससे वह गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गई थी। अशिक्षा और अंधविश्वास के चलते उसके परिजनों ने प्राथमिक उपचार के बजाय उसे गांव के भगत से झाड़-फूंक करवाई और देसी जड़ी-बूटी का सेवन कराया।
स्थिति गंभीर होने पर एक सप्ताह बाद परिजन उसे बिशुनपुर उप स्वास्थ्य केंद्र ले गए, जहां एंटी-रेबीज इंजेक्शन लगाया गया, लेकिन तब तक बहुत देर हो चुकी थी। संक्रमण के कारण छात्रा के मस्तिष्क में बुखार चढ़ गया, जिसके बाद उसे गुमला सदर अस्पताल लाया गया। डॉक्टरों ने बताया कि समय पर सही इलाज न मिलने के कारण उसे हाइड्रोफोबिया हो गया है। फिलहाल उसकी हालत गंभीर है और उसे बेहतर इलाज के लिए रांची रिम्स रेफर कर दिया गया है।
इस घटना ने ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में व्याप्त अशिक्षा और अंधविश्वास की समस्या को उजागर किया है। आजादी के इतने वर्षों बाद भी, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में लोग अभी भी आधुनिक चिकित्सा के बजाय झाड़-फूंक और देसी उपचार पर भरोसा करते हैं, जिससे कई बार जानलेवा स्थिति उत्पन्न हो जाती है। सरकार की ओर से शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं को लेकर बड़े-बड़े दावे किए जाते हैं, लेकिन जमीनी हकीकत कुछ और ही है।
इस घटना से चांदनी की जिंदगी और मौत के बीच संघर्ष जारी है, जबकि परिवार के साथ पूरा गांव चिंता में है। प्रशासन और संबंधित विभाग को इस दिशा में ठोस कदम उठाने की आवश्यकता है।
