Hemant Soren Extends Support to ‘Maiyaan Sammaan Yatra,’ Aims for Women Empowerment in Jharkhand

Ranchi, October 4, 2024 Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has expressed his full support for the newly launched ‘Maiyaan Sammaan Yatra,’ led by state ministers Baby Devi and Dipika Pandey Singh. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Soren conveyed his best wishes for the yatra, emphasizing its importance in promoting women’s empowerment across the state.

Marking the beginning of the sacred Navratri festival, Soren highlighted the yatra as more than just a journey. He described it as a “movement” aimed at recognizing and celebrating the courage, struggles, and achievements of the women of Jharkhand. He stated, “On this auspicious occasion of Navratri, we commit to the upliftment of women power. This yatra will shed light on the stories of the bravery, resilience, and success of our state’s women.”

Empowerment at the Core

The ‘Maiyaan Sammaan Yatra’ seeks to reach every corner of Jharkhand, touching every village and district along the way. According to Soren, the initiative’s goal is to make every woman in the state self-reliant, educated, and empowered. He described the yatra as a vital step toward giving women the recognition and respect they deserve.

Soren further added, “This is not just a program but a movement – one that will unite the entire state. It will reach every district, every village, and aims to recognize the contribution of women to society while giving them the honor they rightfully deserve.”

Call for Collective Effort

The Chief Minister urged all citizens to actively participate in the yatra and its mission, emphasizing that the progress of Jharkhand is inherently tied to the progress of its women. “When the women of Jharkhand move forward, the entire state will achieve new milestones of development. Our state’s progress lies in the progress of our sisters,” Soren said.

The yatra comes at a crucial time as Jharkhand’s government seeks to bolster its initiatives aimed at women’s welfare, education, and entrepreneurship. With this yatra, the government hopes to create a broad social movement, encouraging women to break barriers and actively contribute to the state’s growth.

Soren’s post has garnered widespread attention, with many lauding the initiative and the state’s renewed focus on gender equality and empowerment.
