Ranchi, Jharkhand – Chief Minister Hemant Soren has officially launched the “Maiya Samman Yatra” from the sacred land of Baba Bansidhar in Garhwa. The initiative aims to empower women across Jharkhand by connecting them with welfare schemes, ensuring their rights, and boosting their dignity and self-respect.
In his statement, Soren emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment in building a stronger society. “If our daughters, sisters, and mothers are empowered, our families and society will also be strong,” he said. The ‘Maiya Samman Yatra’ is a symbolic and practical step toward ensuring the well-being of women in the state.
The state government has spent the past four and a half years working to uplift women by linking them to numerous welfare programs that secure their rights and improve their social standing. This journey marks the beginning of a larger initiative aimed at reaching every woman in Jharkhand, ensuring that they receive lifelong support and recognition.
What is the ‘Maiya Samman Yatra’?
The “Maiya Samman Yatra” is a statewide campaign designed to promote women’s welfare and recognize their contributions to society. The campaign connects women with various government schemes that focus on their health, education, financial independence, and social security. It also aims to raise awareness about women’s rights and the state’s efforts to safeguard them.
By starting the journey from Garhwa, the Jharkhand government is focusing on reaching rural and marginalized communities, where women may face more significant challenges in accessing welfare benefits and services.

Over the past four and a half years, the Jharkhand government has launched numerous programs to address women’s welfare.
