जलप्रपात के आकर्षण को आम लोगों तक पहुंचना,ही उक्त मेला का उद्देश्य हैं

गुमला – गुमला जिला अंतर्गत स्थित पालकोट पालकोट प्रखंड के सुंदरीडीह जलप्रपात क्षेत्र को पर्यटन स्थल के रूप विकसित करने के उद्देश्य से नववर्ष के दिन गुरुवार को नव वर्ष मेला का आयोजन किया गया। ज्ञातव्य हैं कि सुंदरीडीह जल प्रपात से काफी ऊंचाई से उक्त पहाड़ से गिरते जल धारा काफी अद्भुत और आकर्षण का केंद्र हैं लेकिन यह क्षेत्र अबतक उपेक्षित है। मुख्य अतिथि भाजपा नेता मंगल सिंह भोग़ता ने कहा है कि सुंदरीडीह जल प्रपात को जन मानस के पटल पर लाने के उद्देश्य से नवयुवक संघ की ओर से नए साल के अवसर पर मेला का आयोजन किया जा रहा है।

इस मेला में गुरुवार को आस पास के 11 गांव का आदिवासी नृत्य दल शामिल हुए और पारंपरिक वेश भूषा में गीत संगीत और नृत्य प्रस्तुत कर अपनी कला क्षमता और प्रतिभा को प्रदर्शित किया। खोड़हा नृत्य दल में शामिल प्रतिभागियों के बीच नगद राशि देकर सम्मानित किया। मेला में साग सब्जी, खिलौने, मिठाई आदि की दुकानें लगी थी। लोग अपने मन पसंद के चीते खरीद रहे थे। इस अवसर पर भाजपा नेता मंगल सिंह भोगता, डहुपानी पंचायत के मुखिया कमल पाहन आदि कार्यक्रम में शामिल हुए। मेला के सफल आयोजन में संरक्षक तारकेश्वर सिंह, सुरेश सिंह, शंकर सिंह, संतू दास, ललिता देवी, जानकी देवी, सुकरा सिंह आदि शामिल थे।
