जेल का निर्माण 18.20 एकड़ में किया जा रहा है जिसमें 280 कैदियों को रखा जा सकेगा, हाई सिक्योरिटी जेल सभी आधुनिक सुरक्षा उपकरणों से लैस होगा
राज्य का पहला हाई सिक्योरिटी जेल का निर्माण हजारीबाग में किया जा रहा है। राज्य के पहले निर्माणाधीन हाई सिक्योरिटी जेल के निर्माण कार्यों का निरीक्षण आज 25 अप्रैल शुक्रवार को झारखंड के गृह सचिव श्के द्वारा किया गया। निरीक्षण के दौरान कारा महानिरीक्षक सुदर्शन मंडल, उपायुक्त श्नैंसी सहाय, पुलिस अधीक्षक अरविंद कुमार सिंह,अपर समाहर्ता संतोष सिंह,जेल अधीक्षक जितेंद्र सिंह, प्रोबेशन पदाधिकारी श्चंद्रशेखर व अन्य अधिकारी मौजूद रहे।
निरीक्षण के क्रम में गृह सचिव ने निर्माणाधीन हाई सिक्योरिटी जेल संपूर्ण परिसर का भ्रमण कर चल रहे निर्माण कार्यों का जायजा लिया।
उन्होंने निर्माण कार्यों में लगे अधिकारियों से वार्ता कर निर्माण संबंधी बारीकियों की जानकारी ली।
यह जेल हार्डकोर उग्रवादियों और अपराधियों को रखने के लिए बनाई जा रही है, जहां उन पर कड़ी निगरानी रखी जाएगी। जेल का निर्माण 18.20 एकड़ में किया जा रहा है जिसमें 280 कैदियों को रखा जा सकेगा।
यह झारखंड का पहला हाई सिक्योरिटी जेल होगा।
हार्डकोर उग्रवादियों और अपराधियों पर कड़ी निगरानी रखने के लिए विशेष उपाय किए जाएंगे। कैदियों के सेल में बिजली का पॉइंट नहीं होगा। यह प्रदेश की पहली और देश की विशिष्ट जेल होगी।
इस हाई सिक्योरिटी जेल में सेल, बाउण्ड्री वाल, कार्यालय, अस्पताल, अधीक्षक आवास, कारापाल आवास, सहायक कारपाल आवास, चिकित्सक आवास, वार्ड, पाकशाला, बाह्य बाउण्ड्री वाल, पारा चिकित्सा कर्मी आवास, कम्प्यूटर ऑपरेटर / लिपिक आवास, वॉच टावर, 50 शैय्या वाला बैरक, ड्रेन, आन्तरिक एवं बाहरी पथ, उच्च कक्षपाल एवं मुख्य उच्च कक्षपाल आवास, बाह्य विद्युतीकरण कार्य, केन्द्र स्थल, वर्षा जल संचयन,अग्निशामक से युक्त होगा। इसके निर्माण में लागत कुल 87,65,96,000/- की लागत आयेगी।

निर्माणाधीन जेल के निरीक्षण के उपरांत गृह सचिव ने हजारीबाग अवस्थित झारखंड खुला जेल सह पुर्नावास केंद्र का निरीक्षण किया। ओपन जेल के निरीक्षण के दौरान उन्होंने परिसर का भ्रमण कर कैदियों को दी जाने वाली तमाम सुविधाओं को जाना। उन्होंने इस दौरान सजायाफ्ता कैदियों से बात की एवं उनकी समस्याओं को जाना। लंबे समय से सजा काट रहे कैदियों ने गृह सचिव से जेल के अंदर कौशल विकास अंतर्गत रोजगार परक प्रशिक्षण दिलाने का आग्रह किया ताकि जेल से निकलने के उपरांत मुख्य धारा में लौटने में सहायक हो सके।
गृह सचिव इन तमाम मुद्दों पर जल्द सकारात्मक पहल करने का आश्वासन दिया।
