गुमला — झारखंड के गुमला जिले के डुमरी थाना अंतर्गत लोहड़ा गांव में 50 वर्षीय श्याम चरण नामक व्यक्ति ने बुधवार शाम नशे की हालत में ‘थाईनेट’ कीटनाशक का सेवन कर आत्महत्या कर ली। इलाज के लिए अस्पताल ले जाते वक्त रास्ते में ही उनकी मृत्यु हो गई।
परिजनों के अनुसार, श्याम चरण पहले भी वर्ष 2013 में कीटनाशक खाने की कोशिश कर चुके थे। तब उनका इलाज रांची स्थित रिम्स अस्पताल में 15 दिनों तक चला था। इसके बावजूद वह शराब की लत से बाहर नहीं निकल सके और लगातार नशे की स्थिति में रहने लगे थे।
बुधवार की शाम जब वह अचानक उल्टी करने लगे और उनकी हालत बिगड़ती गई, तो परिजन घबरा गए। उन्हें तुरंत डुमरी उपस्वास्थ्य केंद्र ले जाया गया। वहां प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद डॉक्टरों ने स्थिति गंभीर बताते हुए गुमला सदर अस्पताल रेफर कर दिया। मगर रास्ते में ही श्याम चरण ने दम तोड़ दिया।
मामले की जानकारी मिलते ही डुमरी थाना की पुलिस गुमला अस्पताल पहुंची और शव को अपने कब्जे में लेकर पोस्टमार्टम के लिए भेजा। शव को पोस्टमार्टम हाउस में रखा गया और आज औपचारिक प्रक्रिया के बाद परिजनों को सौंप दिया गया।
डुमरी पुलिस ने बताया कि आत्महत्या के कारणों को लेकर पूछताछ शुरू कर दी गई है और मामले की विधिवत छानबीन जारी है।
यह घटना एक बार फिर नशे की लत और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य को लेकर गंभीर सवाल खड़े करती है, जो ग्रामीण इलाकों में भी अब आम होती जा रही है।
