प्रकृति के अनमोल और नैसर्गिक सौंदर्य को अपने आंचल में समेटे चैनपुर प्रखंड का शंख और लावा नदी संगम स्थल अब केवल दिन के चंद घंटों के भ्रमण तक सीमित नहीं रहेगा बल्कि यहां की हसीन वादियों और कल-कल बहती लहरों के बीच अब सैलानियों की रातें भी सुकून के साथ महकेंगी। वर्षों से यहां आने वाले पर्यटकों के मन में यह एक बड़ी कसक रहती थी कि शाम ढलते ही उन्हें इस खूबसूरत और शांत नजारे को मजबूरी में छोड़कर वापस अपने घरों को लौटना पड़ता था जिससे उनकी पिकनिक और यात्रा का आनंद अधूरा रह जाता था। लेकिन वन विभाग द्वारा शुरू किए गए नए पारिस्थितिकी पर्यटन प्रोजेक्ट ने अब इस वर्षों पुरानी कमी को हमेशा के लिए दूर करने की ठान ली है।

इस संबंध में जानकारी देते हुए वन क्षेत्र पदाधिकारी जगदीश राम ने विस्तार से बताया कि विभाग यहां पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने और स्थानीय लोगों को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने

के उद्देश्य से लगभग 25 लाख रुपए की लागत से बेहद आधुनिक और आकर्षक कॉटेज का निर्माण करा रहा है जिसमें पाइन की विशेष लकड़ियों का उपयोग किया जा रहा है ताकि सैलानियों को यहां प्रकृति के एकदम करीब होने का जीवंत अहसास हो सके। रेंजर जगदीश राम ने आगे कहा कि हमारा मुख्य उद्देश्य इस संगम स्थल को झारखंड के मानचित्र पर एक प्रमुख और आधुनिक इको-टूरिज्म हब के रूप में स्थापित करना है।

इस संगम स्थल का ऐतिहासिक राजा-रानी पत्थर और अद्भुत डोंगा पत्थर अपनी एक अलग और रहस्यमयी लोककथा के लिए मशहूर है जिसे देखने के लिए नए साल और छुट्टियों के मौसम में हजारों की भारी संख्या में सैलानी दूर-दराज के जिलों से यहां पहुंचते हैं लेकिन अब तक ठहरने की कोई व्यवस्था नहीं होने से उन्हें भारी मन से शाम होते ही निकल जाना पड़ता था।

अब यहां कॉटेज के निर्माण से पर्यटकों का न केवल आगमन बढ़ेगा बल्कि वे यहां रात्रि विश्राम कर आसपास के अन्य महत्वपूर्ण धार्मिक और दार्शनिक स्थलों का भी सलीके से भ्रमण कर सकेंगे। यहां रुकने वाले सैलानियों के लिए अब भगवान परशुराम की पावन तपोभूमि और प्राचीन पुरातात्विक धरोहर वाले टांगीनाथ धाम के दर्शन करना आसान होगा, साथ ही वे प्राचीन धार्मिक स्थल करना आसान होगा, साथ ही वे प्राचीन धार्मिक स्थल सिरसी ता धाम, शांत और मनोरम नौगाई डैम, शंख नदी की ऊंचाई से गिरते दूधिया जल वाले सदनी फॉल और प्रकृति की अनोखी संरचना वाले छेरिया टंगरा जैसे स्थलों का भी आनंद उठा पाएंगे।
