अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर (कविता)

अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर जहां के लोग भेड़ (भीड़) हैं,
जहां उनके चरवाहे ही उनको गुमराह करते हैं।
अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर जिसके नेता ही झूठ बोलते हैं,
और वहां के सज्जन लोग चुप रहते हैं,
और जहां की फिजाओं में, धर्मांधता, का डेरा है।
अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर जो मानवता पर जुल्म के खिलाफ आवाज नहीं उठाता है,
सिवाय धर्मोन्मादियों की जय जय कार के,
और स्तुति करता है दंगाइयों की नायक की तरह,
जिसका लक्ष्य पांच ट्रिलियन की इकॉनमी होना है, बल से और छल से।
अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर जो केवल अपनी भाषा जानता है दूसरे देशों की नहीं,
जो केवल अपनी संस्कृति जानता है दूसरों की नहीं।
अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर जहां प्रेम अलग-थलग पड़ गया हो और अलगाववाद केंद्र में हो,
और जो खाए पिए अघाये लोगों की गहरी नींद सोता हो,
अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर ओह! उसके ऐसे लोगों पर,
जो अपने अधिकारों को बंधक रख चुके हों,
जिनकी स्वतंत्रता उनके आत्मसम्मान के साथ धुल चुकी हो।
अफसोस है ऐसे देश पर जहां नागरिकता शब्द के अर्थ बनने से पहले से रह रहे नागरिकों से नागरिकता का प्रमाण मांगा जाता है।
कागज की खोज होने से पहले का कागज मांगा जाता हो।
मेरे देश! तुम्हारे आंसू,
इस प्यारी धरती की आजादी के लिए हैं।
