बैठक में मुख्य रूप से लोकसभा निर्वाचन में प्रयोग किए जाने वाले मतदान केन्द्रों के नाम तथा भवन में बदलाव या परिवर्तन को लेकर विचार विमर्श किया गया। निर्वाचन पदाधिकारी ने बताया कि इस बार बूथों के नाम व भवन परिवर्तन को लेकर निर्वाचन आयोग के सख्त निर्देश प्राप्त हुए हैं। निर्देशानुसार अति महत्वपूर्ण व विशेष परिस्थिति में ही जिले भर के अधिकतम पांच बूथ के भवनों में परिवर्तन संभव हो सकेगा।
आज संपन्न हुई बैठक में एईआरओ द्वारा भवनों के परिवर्तन संबंधी प्रस्ताव पर विचार करते हुए सर्वसम्मति से पांच प्रपोजल को निर्वाचन आयोग भेजे जाने की प्रक्रिया की गई।
जिला निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने अब तक चिन्हित सभी मतदान केन्द्रों में एएमएफ (न्यूनतम बुनियादी सुविधाएं) को क्रियाशील रखने तथा छोटे-मोटे मरम्मती के कार्यों को दुरुस्त करने का निर्देश दिया।
मौक पर डीईओ ने बताया कि नए मतदाताओं को मतदाता सूची में जोड़ने की प्रक्रिया अब भी जारी है तथा निर्वाचन की अधिसूचना जारी होने के एक दिन पूर्व तक यह प्रक्रिया जारी रहेगी,अतः नए मतदाता जिन्होंने अब तक मतदाता सूची में अपना नाम दर्ज नहीं करवाया है वें फॉर्म 6 भरकर अपना नाम मतदाता सूची में शामिल करा सकते है। साथ उन्होंने यह जानकारी दी कि वैसे मतदाता जिनका नाम मतदाता सूची में है लेकिन उनके पास एपिक कार्ड या मतदाता पहचान पत्र नहीं है वह अन्य विकल्पों मसलन आधार कार्ड, ड्राइविंग लाइसेंस,पासपोर्ट इत्यादि के माध्यम से अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग कर सकते हैं।
इस अवसर पर आम आदमी पार्टी, भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी,आजसु, बहुजन समाजवादी पार्टी,भारतीय जनता पार्टी,राष्ट्रीय जनता दल,झारखंड मुक्ति मोर्चा व इंडियन नेशनल कांग्रेस के प्रतिनिधि उपस्थित थे।
