गुमला : गुमला जिले के बसिया स्थित वन विभाग और टाटा कंपनी के तत्वावधान में शनिवार को जगजोर गांव में विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस मनाया गया। इस अवसर पर ग्रामीणों को जल, जंगल एवं पर्यावरण के संरक्षण का संकल्प दिलाया गया।
टाटा कंपनी के सीओ अमित कुमार ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस का उद्देश्य हम सभी को जंगल बचाने के लिए प्रेरित करना है। उन्होंने बताया कि पेड़-पौधों की कटाई के कारण पूरा मानव जीवन खतरे में है और हर व्यक्ति को पौधे लगाकर जंगल की रक्षा करने का संकल्प लेना चाहिए। अमित कुमार ने ग्रामीणों को शपथ दिलाई और जंगल बचाने के लिए प्रेरित किया।
वनपाल लिबनुस कुल्लू ने रक्षाबंधन के अवसर पर पेड़ों में रक्षा सूत्र बांधने की तुलना करते हुए कहा कि हमें भी पेड़ों की रक्षा का संकल्प लेना चाहिए, क्योंकि जंगल है तो जीवन है। उन्होंने कहा कि विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस पर्यावरण की सुरक्षा और संरक्षण के लिए पूरे विश्व में मनाया जाता है। उन्होंने ग्रामीणों के प्रयास की सराहना की और इसे जारी रखने की अपील की।
