Blood Donation: As Noble as Kanyadaan and Gaw daan – Sanjay Seth

Mega Blood Donation Camp

Adityapur: A mega blood donation camp organized by Praveen Singh Smriti Seva Sanstha saw a large turnout at the Bhagwati Enclave Community Hall. The camp was held on Sunday to honor the memory of late social worker Praveen Singh.

Inauguration and Attendance

The camp was inaugurated by Sanjay Seth, the Union Minister of State for Defense, by garlanding a portrait of Praveen Singh and cutting the ribbon. He also interacted with the donors. The former MLA of Ichagarh, Arvind Singh alias Malkhan Singh, warmly welcomed the Minister.

Remarks by Sanjay Seth

Union Minister Sanjay Seth emphasized the significance of blood donation, equating it with noble acts like Kanyadaan and Gaw daan. He mentioned that the true value of a person is often realized posthumously, using Praveen Singh as an example. Seth praised Arvind Singh for continuing his brother’s legacy by organizing such events.

Personal Experience

Sanjay Seth shared his own experience of donating blood for 32 years, highlighting the health benefits and the body’s rejuvenation post-donation. He encouraged others to donate, noting the increased energy levels and appetite that follow.

Challenges During the Pandemic

Former MLA Arvind Singh recalled the challenges faced during the COVID-19 pandemic when there was a severe shortage of blood and oxygen. This situation prompted him to initiate blood donation camps. He expressed gratitude to Sanjay Seth for attending and supporting the cause.

Jamshedpur Leads in Blood Donation

Sanjeev Choudhary, President of Tata Workers Union, noted that Jamshedpur leads the nation in blood donation due to the awareness and understanding of its importance among the residents.

Honoring Sanjay Seth

During the ceremony, Arvind Singh’s nephew, Ankur Singh, honored Sanjay Seth with a memento and shawl. The Minister appreciated the gesture and encouraged Ankur Singh.
