Hemant Soren Demands Central Government to Release Jharkhand’s Due Funds for Development

Ranchi, October 4, 2024 Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has called upon the central government to release pending funds owed to the state, amounting to ₹1.36 lakh crore. In a passionate appeal shared on social media, Soren criticized the lack of financial support from the Centre and urged the government to allow Jharkhand to use its resources for the state’s development.

Soren emphasized that Jharkhand is not asking for special status or a larger share of the central budget like other states, but is simply demanding what rightfully belongs to the state. “We are not asking for special status like BJP-allied states, nor are we demanding a significant portion of the central budget like some states. We only ask for what is ours—our rightful share,” he said.

Justice, Not Privilege

The Chief Minister stressed that his demand is not for special privileges, but for justice. “Jharkhand has a long history of struggle for its statehood, and now we want proper utilization of our resources and rights. We want justice, not privilege,” Soren remarked. He highlighted the state’s need for fair access to its financial resources to improve sectors like education, healthcare, and infrastructure.

Focus on Sustainable Development

Soren stated that if the state receives the pending funds, it would usher in a new era of sustainable development. He promised that the funds would be used to uplift all communities in Jharkhand, including tribal and indigenous groups, while ensuring the protection of the environment.

“With these funds, we will take Jharkhand on a path of development that protects our environment, serves the interests of our tribal and indigenous communities, and benefits every Jharkhandi,” Soren added.

He also laid out plans for improving education and healthcare services to ensure a bright future for the children of Jharkhand. Additionally, the state government aims to preserve Jharkhand’s rich language and culture while creating new employment opportunities for its youth.

Call for Unity in the Fight for Rights

Soren urged the central government to stop hindering Jharkhand’s progress and to cooperate in the state’s development. He reiterated his determination to fight for the state’s rightful dues, even if it meant facing challenges. “The central government should make a decision on our rightful dues and not obstruct Jharkhand’s development, but rather be a partner in it. We will fight for our rights, no matter how difficult the path may be,” Soren asserted.

He called on the people of Jharkhand to unite in the fight for the state’s rights and urged every citizen to safeguard the interests of the state. “Every individual born on Jharkhand’s soil has a duty to protect the state’s interests. We will raise our voices, fight together, and reclaim our rights just like our ancestors did,” he concluded.

The Chief Minister’s appeal comes at a crucial time when Jharkhand faces growing financial challenges, and the delayed release of funds has impacted the state’s development plans. The plea aims to pressure the central government into taking swift action to ensure Jharkhand’s growth and prosperity.
