गुमला | अल्बर्ट एक्का प्रखंड के तिलई टोली गांव में सोमवार देर रात एक आक्रोशित और बेकाबू जंगली हाथी ने राजकीय उत्क्रमित मध्य विद्यालय में घुसकर भारी नुकसान पहुंचाया। करीब 2 बजे रात को हाथी ने स्कूल की खिड़की को सूंड से तोड़ दिया और अंदर घुसकर 150 किलो चावल खा गया। इस हमले में स्कूल की इमारत को भी नुकसान हुआ, जिससे ग्रामीणों में दहशत फैल गई।
लगातार हमलों से सहमे ग्रामीण, पहरेदारी कर रहे लोग
बताया जा रहा है कि यही हाथी पिछले महीने एक व्यक्ति की जान ले चुका है और एक अन्य को विकलांग बना चुका है। लगातार हमलों के चलते ग्रामीणों में भय का माहौल है। गांववाले रात-रात भर जागकर पहरेदारी करने को मजबूर हैं, ताकि कोई और घटना न घटे।
हाथी भगाने में लग गई पूरी रात
सोमवार रात हाथी जब स्कूल परिसर में दाखिल हुआ, तो गांव में अफरा-तफरी मच गई। ग्रामीणों ने मिलकर शोर मचाकर हाथी को जंगल की ओर भगाने की कोशिश की, जिसमें उन्हें मंगलवार सुबह तक का समय लग गया। स्कूल की दीवारों में दरारें आ गई हैं और कई हिस्से क्षतिग्रस्त हो चुके हैं।
वन विभाग ने दिया मुआवज़े का आश्वासन
घटना की सूचना मिलते ही विद्यालय के प्रधानाध्यापक श्याम सुंदर सिंह मंगलवार सुबह 7 बजे स्कूल पहुंचे। साथ ही, जारी प्रखंड के वनपाल सुखदेव लकड़ा ने घटनास्थल का निरीक्षण किया और कहा कि हाथी द्वारा पहुंचाए गए नुकसान की भरपाई वन विभाग द्वारा की जाएगी। उन्होंने कहा कि 150 किलो चावल और विद्यालय संरचना की क्षति का मुआवज़ा जल्द प्रदान किया जाएगा।
प्रशासनिक आश्वासन से ग्रामीण असंतुष्ट
हालांकि, ग्रामीणों में वन विभाग के आश्वासनों को लेकर असंतोष भी देखा गया। उनका कहना है कि बार-बार होने वाली घटनाओं के बावजूद स्थायी समाधान नहीं निकल रहा। लोगों का आरोप है कि वन विभाग केवल आश्वासन देकर अपनी जिम्मेदारी निभा रहा है, जबकि हाथी का आतंक लगातार बढ़ता जा रहा है।
जरूरत स्थायी समाधान की
यह घटना एक बार फिर दर्शाती है कि मानव-वन्यजीव संघर्ष कितना गंभीर होता जा रहा है। ग्रामीण इलाकों में हाथियों का बार-बार प्रवेश और जान-माल की हानि यह संकेत देता है कि अब प्रशासन को केवल राहत की जगह रोकथाम पर भी ध्यान देना होगा। स्थायी समाधान के बिना ऐसी घटनाएं दोहराई जाती रहेंगी।
