विनोबा भावे विश्वविद्यालय में पूर्वी क्षेत्र अंतर विश्वविद्यालय महिला खो खो प्रतियोगिता की तैयारी जोर-शोर से चल रही है। विश्वविद्यालय मुख्यालय के विनोदिनी पार्क में तीन तथा विश्वविद्यालय के स्टेडियम मैदान में दो उच्च स्तरीय कोर्ट बनाए जा रहे हैं। विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति प्रोफेसर पवन कुमार पोद्दार पूरी तैयारी पर सीधी नजर रखे हुए हैं। पुरी तैयारी छात्रकल्याण संकायअध्यक्ष डॉ विकास कुमार एवं खेल निदेशक डॉ राखो हरि की देखरेख में चल रही है।
ज्ञात हो की बिहार, झारखंड, पश्चिम बंगाल, उड़ीसा, असम एवं पूर्वोत्तर के राज्यों से कुल 36 विश्वविद्यालय के महिला खो खो दल इस प्रतियोगिता में भाग लेने की पुष्टि कर दिए है।
खेल अनुदेशक उत्तम कुमार एवं शुभम कुमार एक-एक कोर्ट की लंबाई चौड़ाई को तकनीकी मापदंडों के अनुसार निर्धारित करते हुए मार्किंग का काम भी प्रारंभ कर दिए है। संत कोलंबा महाविद्यालय के अशोक कुमार सिंह इस कार्य में बढ़-चढ़कर सहयोग कर रहे हैं। ग्राउंड्समैन रॉविंद और अशोक का मेहनत असर दिखाने लगा है।
लगभग चार वर्षों के बाद परिसर में फिर से खेलकूद का माहौल बनता दिख रहा है। इसी बीच विश्वविद्यालय में उस समय हलचल मच गई जब मानव विज्ञान विभाग के शिक्षक डॉ गंगानाथ झा के नेतृत्व में विद्यार्थियों ने कोर्ट में आकर चल रहे सफाई कार्य में स्वतः योगदान दिया। इस कर सेवा में विभाग के विधार्थी पूजा, सीमा, खुशबू, आशा, मधु, अंशु, अमला अनूप, रीमा प्रवीण, चंदन, कृष्ण कुमार, और इरफान अंसारी ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।
कुलपति पोद्दार ने आदेश दिया है कि बेहतर आयोजन के साथ यह भी सुनिश्चित करना है की विभावि दल का प्रदर्शन भी उच्च कोटि का हो। इस लक्ष्य को प्राप्त करने के उद्देश्य से खो खो के प्रशिक्षक सुबोध कुमार दास और विशाल कुमार की देखरेख में विश्वविद्यालय दल का सघन प्रशिक्षण प्रारंभ हो चुका है।
