ओआरएस शब्द के दुरुपयोग पर रोक: उपभोक्ताओं को गुमराह होने से बचाने हेतु विशेष बैठक आयोजित

गुमला : – गुमला जिला मुख्यालय में अपर मुख्य चिकित्सा पदाधिकारी (ACMO) गुमला की अध्यक्षता में आज चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स के सदस्यों के साथ एक विशेष बैठक आयोजित की गई, जिसमें जिला खाद्य सुरक्षा पदाधिकारी सहित अन्य संबंधित पदाधिकारी एवं कर्मी उपस्थित रहे। बैठक में एसोसिएशन ऑफ ड्रग एंड केमिस्ट, गुमला तथा चैंबर ऑफ कॉमर्स, गुमला के सदस्यों को भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा एवं मानक प्राधिकरण (FSSAI), नई दिल्ली एवं राज्य खाद्य सुरक्षा आयुक्त कार्यालय, नामकुम, राँची के संयुक्त निर्देशों से अवगत कराया गया।

निर्देशों के अनुसार, अब किसी भी खाद्य या पेय उत्पाद के नाम, ब्रांड अथवा लेबल में “ORS” शब्द का उपयोग नहीं किया जा सकेगा। यह पाया गया है कि कई कंपनियाँ अपने मीठे पेय पदार्थों को “ORS” नाम से बेचकर उपभोक्ताओं को भ्रमित कर रही थीं। जबकि वास्तविक “ORS” एक चिकित्सकीय उत्पाद है, जिसमें चीनी और नमक का सटीक अनुपात होता है और जिसे केवल विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (WHO) द्वारा अनुशंसित स्वरूप में ही बेचा जाना चाहिए।

बैठक में यह स्पष्ट किया गया कि यदि कोई कंपनी या विक्रेता “ORS” शब्द का दुरुपयोग करता है, तो ऐसे उत्पादों को “misbranded” एवं “misleading” की श्रेणी में माना जाएगा, जिस पर जुर्माना एवं कानूनी कार्रवाई की जा सकती है।

अपर मुख्य चिकित्सा पदाधिकारी ने जिले के सभी विक्रेताओं एवं व्यापारियों से अपील की कि वे एफएसएसएआई के निर्देशों का पूर्णतः पालन सुनिश्चित करें और उपभोक्ताओं को गुमराह करने वाले किसी भी उत्पाद का प्रचार या विक्रय न करें।
