बोकारो थर्मल रेलवे स्टेशन पर उस समय अफरा-तफरी मच गई, जब स्टेशन परिसर में खड़ी एक मालगाड़ी में अचानक आग लग गई। आग की लपटें और घना धुआं उठता देख यात्रियों और रेलवे कर्मियों में हड़कंप मच गया।
घटना की जानकारी मिलते ही स्टेशन अधीक्षक शैलेश कुमार ने तत्परता दिखाते हुए तत्काल डीवीसी दमकल विभाग को सूचित किया। सूचना मिलते ही दमकल विभाग की टीम मौके पर पहुंची और त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए आग पर काबू पा लिया। समय रहते आग बुझा दिए जाने से एक बड़ी रेल दुर्घटना टल गई।
प्रारंभिक जानकारी के अनुसार आग लगने के कारणों का पता लगाया जा रहा है। घटना के बाद रेलवे प्रशासन ने राहत की सांस ली है और भविष्य में इस तरह की घटनाओं से बचाव के लिए सुरक्षा व्यवस्था को और सुदृढ़ करने की बात कही है।
वहीं स्थानीय लोगों और यात्रियों ने स्टेशन अधीक्षक एवं दमकल कर्मियों की त्वरित कार्रवाई की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि यदि समय पर आग पर काबू नहीं पाया जाता, तो बड़ा हादसा हो सकता था।
