दिव्यांगता को ताकत बनाकर राजनीति में नई लकीर खींचने वाले भारतीय नेता

भारतीय लोकतंत्र की सबसे बड़ी विशेषता यह है कि यहां नेतृत्व का पैमाना शारीरिक सामर्थ्य नहीं, बल्कि संघर्ष, विचार और जनविश्वास होता है। भारतीय राजनीति में ऐसे अनेक उदाहरण हैं, जहां नेताओं ने दिव्यांगता को कमजोरी नहीं, बल्कि संवेदना, संकल्प और दूरदृष्टि की ताकत में बदला। इन नेताओं ने न केवल सत्ता के शीर्ष पदों तक पहुंच बनाई, बल्कि समाज को यह संदेश भी दिया कि सीमाएं शरीर की हो सकती हैं, इरादों की नहीं।

स्वतंत्रता संग्राम से लेकर आधुनिक राजनीति तक, यमुना प्रसाद शास्त्री जैसे नेताओं ने इस परंपरा की नींव रखी। गोवा मुक्ति आंदोलन में पुर्तगाली पुलिस की गोली से दृष्टि खोने के बाद भी उन्होंने हार नहीं मानी। जनता पार्टी के टिकट पर रीवा लोकसभा सीट से जीत दर्ज कर संसद पहुंचे और नेत्रहीन होते हुए भी विधायी बहसों में सक्रिय भूमिका निभाई। उनकी यात्रा आज भी लाखों दृष्टिबाधित लोगों के लिए प्रेरणा है।

इसी क्रम में एस. जयपाल रेड्डी का नाम उल्लेखनीय है। बचपन में पोलियो से प्रभावित होने के बावजूद उन्होंने अपनी बौद्धिक क्षमता और राजनीतिक समझ के दम पर कांग्रेस के शीर्ष नेताओं में स्थान बनाया। चार बार लोकसभा और दो बार राज्यसभा सांसद रहे जयपाल रेड्डी संसद की गंभीर, तर्कपूर्ण और विचारोत्तेजक बहसों के लिए जाने जाते थे। वे दिव्यांगता के साथ बौद्धिक राजनीति की सशक्त मिसाल बने।

छत्तीसगढ़ के पहले मुख्यमंत्री अजीत जोगी की कहानी भी असाधारण है। एक सफल आईएएस अधिकारी से राजनीति में आए जोगी ने नवगठित राज्य की प्रशासनिक और विकासात्मक नींव रखी। 2004 की दुर्घटना के बाद कमर से नीचे पूर्ण रूप से पैरालाइज हो जाने के बावजूद उन्होंने राजनीति नहीं छोड़ी। व्हीलचेयर पर रहते हुए भी चुनाव लड़े, नई पार्टी बनाई और सक्रिय राजनीति में बने रहे। उन्होंने साबित किया कि शारीरिक जड़ता नेतृत्व को जड़ नहीं बना सकती।

राजस्थान की राजनीति में सादगी और समर्पण के प्रतीक रहे हरिदेव जोशी ने एक हाथ न होने के बावजूद तीन बार मुख्यमंत्री पद संभाला। उनके कार्यकाल में विश्वविद्यालयों की स्थापना, सिंचाई परियोजनाएं, ग्रामीण विकास और सामाजिक न्याय की मजबूत आधारशिला रखी गई। उनका जीवन बताता है कि नेतृत्व हाथों की संख्या से नहीं, बल्कि दृष्टि की गहराई से तय होता है।

महाराष्ट्र के कद्दावर नेता शरद पवार ने कैंसर जैसी गंभीर बीमारी से जूझते हुए भी राजनीति नहीं छोड़ी। इलाज के कठिन दौर में भी सक्रिय रहकर उन्होंने कृषि, सहकारिता और गठबंधन राजनीति को नई दिशा दी। चार बार मुख्यमंत्री और केंद्रीय मंत्री के रूप में उनका योगदान आज भी भारतीय राजनीति में मिसाल माना जाता है।

तमिलनाडु की राजनीति के पुरोधा एम. करुणानिधि ने व्हीलचेयर पर रहते हुए भी सत्ता और विचारधारा दोनों को मजबूती दी। पांच बार मुख्यमंत्री रहे करुणानिधि ने द्रविड़ आंदोलन, सामाजिक न्याय और तमिल भाषा-संस्कृति के संरक्षण में ऐतिहासिक भूमिका निभाई। उनका जीवन बताता है कि विचारधारा चलने के लिए पैरों की नहीं, संकल्प की जरूरत होती है।

इस श्रृंखला में स्वतंत्र भारत के पहले नेत्रहीन सांसद साधन गुप्ता का योगदान विशेष रूप से उल्लेखनीय है। चेचक के कारण बचपन में दृष्टि खोने के बावजूद उन्होंने शिक्षा को हथियार बनाया, वकालत की और संसद तक पहुंचे। उन्होंने नेशनल फेडरेशन ऑफ द ब्लाइंड की स्थापना कर दिव्यांग अधिकारों की लड़ाई को राष्ट्रीय मंच दिया और संसद में शिक्षा व रोजगार के सवाल उठाए।

ये सभी दिव्यांग नेता भारतीय राजनीति के जीवंत प्रतीक हैं। उनकी यात्राएं यह साबित करती हैं कि दिव्यांगता शरीर की सीमा हो सकती है, लेकिन विचार, साहस और संकल्प की कोई सीमा नहीं होती। यमुना प्रसाद शास्त्री की नेत्रहीनता से लेकर करुणानिधि की व्हीलचेयर तक, हरिदेव जोशी के एक हाथ से लेकर शरद पवार की बीमारी तक—इन सभी ने अपनी चुनौतियों को शक्ति में बदला और देश को नई दिशा दी।
