गुमला जिले के डुमरी थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत रविंद्र नगर के समीप शुक्रवार को एक तेज रफ्तार एवं अनियंत्रित कार सड़क से फिसलकर लगभग 10 फीट गहरे खेत में जा गिरी। हादसे के समय कार में लगभग छह लोग सवार थे, जो नेतरहाट स्थित लौध फॉल घूमने के बाद वापस अपने घर लौट रहे थे।
घटना में गनीमत रही कि किसी प्रकार की जान-माल की गंभीर क्षति नहीं हुई। हालांकि दुर्घटना में रांची के करमटोली निवासी 23 वर्षीय युवती सिवानी टोप्पो के सिर में मामूली चोटें आईं। घायल युवती को तत्काल डुमरी उप स्वास्थ्य केंद्र ले जाया गया, जहां प्राथमिक उपचार के बाद उसकी स्थिति सामान्य बताई गई।
सड़क दुर्घटना की सूचना मिलते ही डुमरी थाना पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई की। डुमरी थाना के एएसआई सुनील बाउरी पुलिस बल के साथ मौके पर पहुंचे और घटनास्थल का निरीक्षण किया। पुलिस ने कार सवारों से पूछताछ कर घटना की जानकारी ली तथा मामले की जांच शुरू कर दी है।
पुलिस के अनुसार प्रथम दृष्टया दुर्घटना का कारण तेज रफ्तार और वाहन का अनियंत्रित होना माना जा रहा है।
