चूड़ा – दही, चीनी – गुड के तिलकुट, एवं अन्य अनेक मिष्ठान , महा संक्रांति के आन – बान – शान और सम्मान हैं

गुमला : – हिंदू धर्मलंबियों. द्वारा अपने भारत देश और विदेश में जनवरी माह में मनाए जाने वाला, चूड़ा, दही,गुड, तिलकुट का विशेष महासंक्रांति त्यौहार , लोहड़ी त्यौहार और टुसू परब ( पर्व ) की तैयारियां दिसंबर माह से ही शुरू हो जाती है, जगह-जगह पर गुड, चीनी,और तिल की सोंधी महक चारों तरफ बिखर जाती है, और लोगों को एहसास होने लगता है की महा संक्रांति का त्यौहार की आहट शुरू हो गई है, फलस्वरूप चीनी का तिलकुट, गुड का तिलकुट, रेवड़ी, गजक, घेवर सहित अन्य अनेक आकार प्रकार के मिष्ठान, मिठाइयां बननी शुरू हो जाती है, वही लोहड़ी और टुसू परब की तैयारियां भी साथ साथ शुरू हो जाती हैं, सभी लोक बाग, बड़े बूढ़े बुजुर्ग, स्त्री पुरुष, युवक युतियां, नन्हे मुन्ने मासूम बच्चे द्वारा भी अपने-अपने रीति रिवाज के अनुसार तैयारी शुरू कर दी जाती है, इस अवसर पर खिचड़ी बनाने और खाने का भी रिवाज है, इस अवसर पर जगह-जगह पतंगबाजी करने के लिए विभिन्न आकार प्रकार के पतंग तैयार किए जाते हैं और उसके डोर पर मांझा लगाया जाता है, और पतंगबाजी के दौरान एक दूसरे के पातंग काटने की होड़ लग जाती है, इसमें सट्टे बाजी भी होती है, और बच्चों एवं युवाओं द्वारा कटी पतंग को लूटने की होड लग जाती है, टुसू परब ( पर्व ) छोटा नागपुर, झारखंड में विशेष कर जमशेदपुर, पूर्वी और पश्चिमी सिंहभूम टाटा सहित पचपरगना और अब विशेष कर झारखंड की राजधानी रांची में भी बहुत ही धूमधाम के साथ टुसू परब के अवसर पर विशाल जुलूस निकाला जाता है, और विभिन्न संगठनों द्वारा विभिन्न आकार प्रकार के प्रतीक चिन्ह बनाकर धूमधाम से टुसू परब मनाया जाता है, इस अवसर पर झारखंड के विभिन्न क्षेत्र में आषाढ़ माह की तरह ही दोबारा प्रभु जगन्नाथ, बहन सुभद्रा और भाई बलराम जी की रथ यात्रा भी निकाली जाती है और उक्त रथ यात्रा मौसी बड़ी तक जाती है, गुमला जिला मुख्यालय स्थित गुमला से लगभग 10 किलोमीटर दूर नागफेनी ग्राम के नागफेनी कोयल नदी के तट पर स्थित प्रभु जगन्नाथ मंदिर नागफेनी से महाप्रभु जगन्नाथ, बहन सुभद्रा और भाई बलराम जी का विशाल रथ यात्रा निकाली जाती है, जो मौसी बड़ी तक जाती है, इस अवसर पर प्रातः होते ही कोयल नदी में स्नान कर प्रभु जगन्नाथ, बहन सुभद्रा और भाई बलराम जी की पूजा अर्चना की जाती है, और मंदिर के समक्ष उपस्थित साधु संतों और अन्य बडे बूढ़े बुजुर्गों के बीच चूड़ा,गुड़, तिलकुट आदि का दान दिया जाता है, महा संक्रांति के अवसर पर दान करने का एक अलग विशेष महत्व हैं
