झारखंड की मेजबानी में 69वीं राष्ट्रीय स्कूली शतरंज एवं साइक्लिंग प्रतियोगिता का भव्य उद्घाटन

स्कूली शिक्षा एवं साक्षरता विभाग अंतर्गत झारखंड शिक्षा परियोजना परिषद की मेजबानी में आयोजित 69वीं राष्ट्रीय स्कूली शतरंज एवं साइक्लिंग (रोड एवं ट्रैक) प्रतियोगिता का आज भव्य उद्घाटन किया गया। यह राष्ट्रीय स्कूली प्रतियोगिता 13 जनवरी से 17 जनवरी 2026 तक आयोजित होगी। दोनों खेलों का उद्घाटन रंगारंग सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों, दीप प्रज्वलन एवं गुब्बारे उड़ाकर किया गया।
साइक्लिंग रोड एवं ट्रैक प्रतियोगिता के उद्घाटन समारोह का आयोजन रिंग रोड स्थित विकास नेवरी में किया गया, जिसमें मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में झारखंड के पूर्व खेल मंत्री मिथलेश कुमार ठाकुर उपस्थित रहे। विशिष्ट अतिथियों में ट्रैफिक डीएसपी शिवकुमार, जिला शिक्षा अधीक्षक बादल राज, सेवानिवृत्त डिप्टी कमांडेंट एस.एस. गील, झारखंड साइक्लिंग संघ के महासचिव शैलेन्द्र कुमार पाठक एवं डॉ. धर्मेंद्र लंब्बा शामिल थे।
वहीं शतरंज प्रतियोगिता का उद्घाटन खेलगांव स्थित हरिवंश ताना भगत इंडोर स्टेडियम में किया गया, जहाँ मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में मनीष कुमार, संयुक्त सचिव, अखिल भारतीय शतरंज संघ उपस्थित रहे। विशिष्ट अतिथियों में नवजोत अलंग (सचिव, रांची जिला शतरंज संघ) एवं दीपक कुमार (अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आर्बिटर) मौजूद थे।
सभी अतिथियों का स्वागत आयोजन सचिव सह राज्य कार्यक्रम पदाधिकारी धीरसेन ए. सोरेंग द्वारा पुष्पगुच्छ, अंगवस्त्र एवं स्मृति चिन्ह भेंट कर किया गया।
मुख्य अतिथि पूर्व खेल मंत्री मिथलेश कुमार ठाकुर ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि खेल वह माध्यम है जिससे हम केवल अपना नाम ही नहीं, बल्कि अपने परिवार, राज्य और देश का नाम भी रोशन करते हैं। पढ़ाई हमें जीवनयापन सिखाती है, लेकिन खेल हमें मान-सम्मान, पहचान और आत्मविश्वास देता है।
उन्होंने कहा कि खेलों के क्षेत्र में झारखंड को मिल रही नई पहचान माननीय मुख्यमंत्री श्री हेमंत सोरेन जी की दूरदर्शी सोच और निरंतर समर्थन का परिणाम है।
जबकि शतरंज प्रतियोगिता के मुख्य अतिथि मनीष कुमार ने खिलाड़ियों को प्रेरित करते हुए कहा कि आज भारत पुरुष एवं महिला दोनों वर्गों में विश्व चैंपियन है, जो पूरे देश के लिए गर्व का विषय है। आप में से भी कई विश्व चैंपियन बन सकते हैं, बस पूरे मनोयोग और लगन से मेहनत करने की आवश्यकता है।
वही स्वागत संबोधन में आयोजन सचिव धीरसेन ए. सोरेंग ने कहा कि शतरंज केवल एक खेल नहीं, बल्कि यह भारत की प्राचीन बौद्धिक परंपरा का गौरवशाली प्रतीक है, जिसकी उत्पत्ति “चतुरंग” के रूप में इसी धरती पर मानी जाती है। यह खेल धैर्य, एकाग्रता, अनुशासन और दूरदर्शिता के साथ-साथ छात्र जीवन में चरित्र निर्माण का भी सशक्त माध्यम है।
इस राष्ट्रीय स्कूली प्रतियोगिता में शतरंज के अंडर-14 बालक एवं बालिका वर्ग तथा साइक्लिंग रोड एवं ट्रैक के अंडर-14, 17 एवं 19 आयु वर्ग में देशभर से लगभग एक हजार खिलाड़ी भाग ले रहे हैं।
आज आयोजित साइक्लिंग रोड प्रतियोगिता के अंडर-19 बालक वर्ग की 20 किलोमीटर स्पर्धा में राजस्थान के रोहित पुनिया ने स्वर्ण पदक, कर्नाटक के होनपा धर्माटी ने रजत पदक एवं हनुमंथा हुलकरी ने कांस्य पदक प्राप्त किया।
पूरे आयोजन को सफल बनाने में राज्य खेल कोषांग के सभी सदस्यों एवं आयोजन समिति का अहम योगदान रहा।
