जेएलकेएम ने मेयर पद के लिए शहरी विकास विशेषज्ञ सिविल इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार को बनाया पार्टी समर्थित उम्मीदवार

आगामी धनबाद नगर निगम चुनाव को लेकर शहर की राजनीतिक सरगर्मी तेज होती जा रही है। इसी क्रम में झारखंड लोकतांत्रिक क्रांतिकारी मोर्चा (जेएलकेएम) ने मेयर पद के लिए अपने पार्टी समर्थित उम्मीदवार की घोषणा कर दी है। पार्टी ने इस बार पढ़े-लिखे, अनुभवी और शहरी विकास की आधुनिक सोच रखने वाले सिविल इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार को चुनावी मैदान में उतारा है।

मंगलवार को धनबाद परिसदन में आयोजित एक प्रेस वार्ता के दौरान जेएलकेएम के केंद्रीय प्रवक्ता सुशील मंडल ने पार्टी पदाधिकारियों की उपस्थिति में मेयर पद के लिए इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार के नाम की औपचारिक घोषणा की। उन्होंने कहा कि जेएलकेएम नगर निगम चुनाव पूरी मजबूती के साथ लड़ेगी और शहर के आम नागरिकों से जुड़े बुनियादी मुद्दों—जैसे जलापूर्ति, स्वच्छता, यातायात, आवास, पर्यावरण और रोजगार—को प्राथमिकता देगी।

सुशील मंडल ने कहा कि

“धनबाद को अब ऐसे नेतृत्व की आवश्यकता है जो केवल राजनीति ही नहीं, बल्कि शहर की समस्याओं को तकनीकी और व्यावहारिक दृष्टिकोण से समझता हो। प्रकाश कुमार जैसे योग्य, अनुभवी और दूरदर्शी व्यक्ति के नेतृत्व में धनबाद का सुनियोजित विकास संभव है।”

जेएलकेएम की इस घोषणा के बाद धनबाद नगर निगम चुनाव की राजनीति ने नया मोड़ ले लिया है। इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार को धनबाद में एक पढ़े-लिखे, ऊर्जावान और युवाओं को साथ लेकर चलने वाले नेता के रूप में देखा जाता है। उनके पास शहरी विकास का स्पष्ट विज़न और ठोस रोडमैप है, जिसके माध्यम से वे अवसर मिलने पर धनबाद को एक आधुनिक, स्वच्छ और सुव्यवस्थित शहर के रूप में विकसित कर सकते हैं।

कौन हैं इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार?
इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार ने प्रतिष्ठित एनआईटी से सिविल इंजीनियरिंग की पढ़ाई की है। इसके बाद उन्होंने इंपीरियल कॉलेज लंदन (यूके) से ट्रांसपोर्ट एंड बिजनेस मैनेजमेंट में पोस्ट ग्रेजुएशन किया है। वे प्रतिष्ठित शेवनिंग स्कॉलर भी रह चुके हैं।

उन्होंने यूनाइटेड किंगडम, मॉरीशस और नेपाल जैसे देशों में शहरी विकास एवं परिवहन क्षेत्र में कार्य किया है और अब तक 26 से अधिक देशों की यात्रा कर अंतरराष्ट्रीय अनुभव प्राप्त किया है। वर्तमान में वे एक शहरी योजना सलाहकार (Urban Planning Consultant) के रूप में कार्यरत हैं।

इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार ने भारत के कई प्रमुख शहरों में शहरी विकास एवं शहरी परिवहन परियोजनाओं पर कार्य किया है। इनमें लखनऊ, कोच्चि, मुंबई, पुणे, अहमदाबाद और विशाखापत्तनम जैसे शहर शामिल हैं। वे देश की विभिन्न मेट्रो परियोजनाओं से भी सक्रिय रूप से जुड़े रहे हैं।

शहरी परिवहन के क्षेत्र में उनके कई तकनीकी लेख प्रकाशित हो चुके हैं। उनकी विशिष्ट सेवाओं और नवाचारों के लिए उन्हें अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर कई प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कारों के लिए नामांकित किया गया है, जिनमें यूके एलुमनी अवॉर्ड (मॉरीशस) और बेंटले इनोवेशन अवॉर्ड (नीदरलैंड) प्रमुख हैं।

इसके अतिरिक्त, उन्होंने झारखंड फ्लाइंग इंस्टीट्यूट से मोटर ग्लाइडर के लिए स्टूडेंट पायलट लाइसेंस भी प्राप्त किया है, जो उनके बहुआयामी व्यक्तित्व को दर्शाता है।

जेएलकेएम का मानना है कि इंजीनियर प्रकाश कुमार जैसे शिक्षित, अनुभवी और वैश्विक दृष्टिकोण रखने वाले नेतृत्व से धनबाद को एक नई दिशा और नई पहचान मिल सकती है।
