गोमिया_ झारखंड से रोजी-रोटी की तलाश में दूसरे राज्यों और विदेशों में जाने वाले प्रवासी मजदूरों की मौत का सिलसिला लगातार जारी है। इसी क्रम में हजारीबाग जिले के विष्णुगढ़ थाना क्षेत्र अंतर्गत मडमो निवासी स्वर्गीय धनी महतो के 36 वर्षीय पुत्र खेमलाल महतो की कर्नाटक में शुक्रवार को मौत हो गई। घटना की सूचना मिलते ही परिजनों का रो-रोकर बुरा हाल है।
बताया जाता है कि खेमलाल महतो पिछले नवंबर 2025 में काम करने के लिए कर्नाटक गए थे, जहां मजदूरी कर अपने परिवार का भरण-पोषण कर रहे थे। शुक्रवार को अचानक उनकी मौत की खबर गांव पहुंची, जिससे पूरे इलाके में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई।
मजदूर हितों के लिए काम करने वाले सिकन्दर अली मडमो पहुंचकर शोक संतप्त परिवार से मिले और अपनी संवेदना व्यक्त की। उन्होंने कहा कि झारखंड के प्रवासी मजदूरों की दूसरे राज्यों और विदेशों में लगातार मौत हो रही है, जो बेहद चिंताजनक है। उन्होंने कहा कि रोजगार की कमी के कारण बड़ी संख्या में मजदूर पलायन करने को मजबूर हैं और आये दिन किसी न किसी प्रवासी मजदूर की मौत की खबर सामने आ रही है।
सिकन्दर अली ने बताया कि बोकारो जिले के प्रवासी मजदूर मनोज कुमार महतो की करीब एक महीने पहले दुबई में मौत हो गई थी, लेकिन अब तक उनका शव दुबई में ही पड़ा हुआ है। उन्होंने राज्य सरकार से प्रवासी मजदूरों की सुरक्षा, सहायता और पलायन रोकने के लिए ठोस नीति बनाने की मांग की।
इधर, खेमलाल महतो की मौत के बाद गांव में मातम पसरा हुआ है और परिजन शव को गांव लाने की मांग कर रहे हैं।
