30 हाथियों के झुंड ने बढ़ाई चिंता, गर्भवती हथनियों के कारण स्थिति बेहद संवेदनशील; कई गांवों में हाई अलर्ट जारी

गोमिया: गोमिया प्रखंड के जंगल एवं आसपास के क्षेत्रों में लगभग 30 जंगली हाथियों का झुंड सक्रिय होने से वन विभाग ने हाई अलर्ट जारी किया है। यह झुंड गोपो, पालू, बड़की पुन्नू तथा कुसुमडीह-कानीडीह के आसपास अलग-अलग हिस्सों में मौजूद है।
वन विभाग के अनुसार झुंड में 2 से 3 गर्भवती हथनियां शामिल हैं। इसी कारण हाथियों की गति धीमी है और आशंका है कि झुंड लंबे समय तक इसी क्षेत्र में ठहर सकता है। विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार गर्भावस्था तथा शावक के जन्म के दौरान हाथियों का व्यवहार अधिक आक्रामक हो सकता है।
स्थिति को देखते हुए महुआटांड़, धवईया, सिमराबेड़ा, दरहाबेड़ा, कुसुमडीह, कानीडीह, गागा, टिकाहारा, फुटकाडीह और कंडेर गांवों के लोगों को विशेष सतर्कता बरतने की सलाह दी गई है।
वन विभाग ने लोगों से अपील की है कि रात में अनावश्यक रूप से घरों से बाहर न निकलें तथा संभव हो तो पक्के मकानों में ही रहें। हाथियों के पास जाकर फोटो या सेल्फी लेने, शोर मचाने या किसी भी तरह उन्हें उकसाने से बचें। हाथियों को भगाने के लिए ट्रैक्टर का साइलेंसर खोलकर तेज आवाज करने या अन्य किसी तरीके से परेशान करने की भी मनाही की गई है।
विभाग ने स्पष्ट किया है कि हाथियों को परेशान करने, रात में जंगल क्षेत्र में अनावश्यक वाहन लेकर घूमने या चेतावनी की अनदेखी करने वालों के खिलाफ वन्यजीव संरक्षण अधिनियम के तहत सख्त कानूनी कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
लोगों की सुरक्षा के लिए क्षेत्र में दो क्विक रिस्पॉन्स टीम (QRT) तैनात की गई हैं। आवश्यकता पड़ने पर गोला, मांडू एवं कुजू से अतिरिक्त टीमें भी बुलाई जाएंगी। किसी भी आपात स्थिति में लोग निम्नलिखित नंबरों पर संपर्क कर सकते हैं—
