गोमिया__ पिट्स मॉडर्न स्कूल, गोमिया के खिलाड़ियों ने बोकारो जिला एथलेटिक्स चैंपियनशिप-2026 में शानदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए विद्यालय का नाम रोशन किया। 9 एवं 10 अगस्त को आयोजित जिला स्तरीय प्रतियोगिता में विद्यालय के खिलाड़ियों ने कुल 16 पदक अपने नाम किए, जिसमें 4 स्वर्ण, 5 रजत और 7 कांस्य पदक शामिल हैं। स्वर्ण एवं रजत पदक जीतने वाले खिलाड़ियों का चयन राज्य स्तरीय प्रतियोगिता के लिए हुआ है।
प्रतियोगिता में बोकारो जिले के विभिन्न विद्यालयों एवं संस्थानों के 330 से अधिक खिलाड़ियों ने हिस्सा लिया। कड़ी प्रतिस्पर्धा के बीच पिट्स मॉडर्न स्कूल के खिलाड़ियों ने विभिन्न ट्रैक एवं फील्ड स्पर्धाओं में प्रतिभा, अनुशासन और आत्मविश्वास का परिचय दिया।
अंडर-12 बालक वर्ग में कक्षा छह के सत्यम व गोपाल महतो ने 60 मीटर दौड़ में स्वर्ण तथा लंबी कूद में कांस्य पदक जीता। रौनक कुमार ने लंबी कूद में रजत और 60 मीटर दौड़ में कांस्य पदक हासिल किया।
अंडर-14 वर्ग में इशिका सहाय ने ट्रायथलॉन-बी में रजत तथा देवांग सिंह ने कांस्य पदक प्राप्त किया। अंडर-16 वर्ग में श्रुति कुमारी ने शॉटपुट और आशीष कुमार यादव ने 60 मीटर दौड़ में रजत पदक जीता।
अंडर-18 वर्ग में विद्यालय के खिलाड़ियों ने विशेष प्रभाव छोड़ा। प्रियांशु भारती ने भाला फेंक में स्वर्ण तथा शॉटपुट में रजत पदक हासिल किया। आशीष नायक ने शॉटपुट में स्वर्ण और डिस्कस थ्रो में कांस्य पदक जीता। पीयूष कुमार ने 100 मीटर दौड़ में स्वर्ण तथा 200 मीटर में कांस्य पदक अपने नाम किया। आर्यन सिंह ने शॉटपुट में कांस्य पदक जीता। अंडर-20 वर्ग में साहिल सिंह ने डिस्कस थ्रो में कांस्य पदक हासिल किया।
जिला प्रतियोगिता में स्वर्ण एवं रजत पदक जीतने वाले सभी खिलाड़ी अब 21 एवं 22 अगस्त को धनबाद में होने वाली राज्य स्तरीय चैंपियनशिप में अपना दमखम दिखाएंगे।
प्रार्थना सभा में खिलाड़ियों का सम्मान
खिलाड़ियों की इस उपलब्धि पर 11 अगस्त को विद्यालय की प्रातःकालीन सभा में सम्मान समारोह आयोजित किया गया। प्राचार्य बृज मोहन लाल दास ने सभी पदक विजेता खिलाड़ियों को पदक एवं प्रमाण-पत्र देकर सम्मानित किया। उन्होंने खिलाड़ियों की मेहनत, अनुशासन, समर्पण और खेल भावना की सराहना करते हुए राज्य स्तरीय प्रतियोगिता के लिए चयनित खिलाड़ियों को शुभकामनाएं दीं।
विद्यालय के कोच गंगाधर के मार्गदर्शन को खिलाड़ियों की सफलता में महत्वपूर्ण बताया गया। उनके निरंतर प्रशिक्षण और प्रेरणा से खिलाड़ियों ने प्रतियोगिता में बेहतर प्रदर्शन किया।
किक बॉक्सिंग में भी स्वर्ण पदक
विद्यालय के पीटीआई एवं कोच हर्ष कुमार ने भी किक बॉक्सिंग में विद्यालय का परचम लहराया। 9 अगस्त को फुसरो में आयोजित चौथी बोकारो जिला किकबॉक्सिंग चैंपियनशिप में उन्होंने 62 किलोग्राम पॉइंट फाइट वर्ग में स्वर्ण पदक हासिल किया।
प्राचार्य बृज मोहन लाल दास, गोमिया विद्यालय प्रबंधन समिति के उपाध्यक्ष अरिंदम दासगुप्ता तथा आईईपीएल (ओरिका) गोमिया के एमसीएम अभिषेक बिस्वास ने खिलाड़ियों, प्रशिक्षकों एवं विद्यालय परिवार को इस उपलब्धि पर बधाई दी। उन्होंने कहा कि खिलाड़ियों की सफलता अन्य विद्यार्थियों को भी खेलों के प्रति प्रेरित करेगी।
पिट्स मॉडर्न स्कूल के खिलाड़ियों की यह उपलब्धि विद्यालय में विकसित हो रही मजबूत खेल संस्कृति का प्रमाण है। जिला स्तर पर शानदार प्रदर्शन के बाद अब खिलाड़ियों की निगाहें राज्य स्तरीय चैंपियनशिप पर हैं, जहां वे अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन करेंगे।
