अखिल ब्रह्मांड के रचयिता शिल्पाचार्य विश्वकर्मा ने ही प्रकम्पित पृथ्वी को स्थिर कर आश्रयिणी बनाया

आधुनिक युग विज्ञान, तकनीक और अभियंत्रण का है. आज अनुसंधान के नवीन प्रयोगों से पृथ्वी की छाती छलनी की जा रही है. विज्ञान की प्रगति की अंधीदौड़ में मानव यह भी भूल गया है कि विश्व की उत्पत्ति के पूर्व अस्थिर व डगमगा रही पृथ्वी को आश्रयिणी के रूप में आदि शिल्पी विश्वकर्मा ने ही प्रस्थापित किया. पृथ्वी को स्थिर करने के लिए सभी देवताओं ने जब आदि गुरु शिल्पाचार्य भगवान विश्वकर्मा से गुहार लगाई तब उन्होंने प्रकम्पित पृथ्वी को आश्रय रूप प्रदान किया. विज्ञान और निर्माण के देवता विज्ञानेश्वर ने समग्र ब्रह्मांड को स्थिर कर प्रवत्तिमय विश्व के लिए अनेक परमाणुओं की रचना की. देवाधिदेव भगवान विश्वकर्मा को अखिल ब्रह्मांड का रचयिता माना जाता है. `विश्वकर्मा` शब्द से ही यह अर्थ ध्वनित होता है.  स्कंद पुराण में उल्लेख है कि भगवान विश्वकर्मा सर्वज्ञ हैं.

विश्व के नवनिर्माण में महत्वपूर्ण योगदान

विश्वकर्मा जी के मुख से उत्पन्न पांचों पुत्र ब्राह्मण कहलाए तथा इनलोगों ने विश्वकर्मा जी से शिल्पशास्त्र की संपूर्ण विधाओं की विधिवत शिक्षा-दीक्षा ग्रहण की. इन पांचों पुत्र से उत्पन्न समग्र प्रजा ब्राह्मण हुई. पांचों मुखों से उत्पन्न होने के कारण ये पांचों पुत्र पांचाल के रूप में प्रसिद्ध हुए, तथा विश्व के नवनिर्माण तथा जीर्णोद्धार के लिए अद्भुत कार्य किए. कहते हैं कि जब आदि नारायण की आज्ञा से आदि ब्रह्म ने सृष्टि के निर्माण का कार्य प्रारंभ किया, तब अस्थिर पृथ्वी को स्थिर करने के लिए उन्होंने विश्वकर्मा जी से प्रार्थना की थी, उस समय विश्वकर्मा ने विराट रूप धारण कर डगमगाती पृथ्वी को स्थिर किया था. उसके बाद जब-जब देवताओं को आवश्यकता हुई, तब-तब उनकी प्रार्थना से विश्वकर्मा जी ने अनेक प्रकार की कलाओं का निर्माण किया. देवताओं के लिए आयुध, आभूषण, निवास स्थान, अलंकार, वाहन तथा विमान आदि का निर्माण उन्होंने ही किया.

देवताओं के प्रख्यात अभियंता कहलाए

पुराणों के अनुसार भगवान विश्वकर्मा देवताओं के प्रख्यात अभियंता स्वीकार किए गए हैं. उन्होंने देवताओं के राजा इंद्र के लिए अलकापुरी, कुबेर के लिए लंकापुरी, शिव के कैलाश तथा कृष्ण के अनुरोध पर विप्र सुदामा के लिए भव्य महल का निर्माण किया. उन्होंने युद्धिष्ठिर के लिए अद्भुत महल का निर्माण किया, जिसमें जल और जमीन में अंतर न कर पाने के कारण दुर्योधन को द्रौपदी द्वारा अपमानित होना पड़ा. भगवान विश्वकर्मा ने देवताओं के लिए अलौकिक संहारक तथा रक्षक आयुधों का निर्माण किया, जिसमें इंद्र का वज्र, विष्णु का सुदर्शन चक्र तथा गदा और शिव के त्रिशूल प्रमुख हैं. अपने अभियंत्रण कला-कौशल से त्रिपुरा सुर के संहार के लिए दिव्य, अस्त्र-शस्त्र का निर्माण किया. कुबेर का पुष्पक विमान जो इच्छानुसार निर्दिष्ट स्थान पर त्वरित गति से चला जाता था और पसर-सिकुड़ जाता था. इसी ज्ञानप्राप्ति तथा कार्यसिद्धि के निमित्त युग-युगांतर से उनकी पूजा-अर्चना की प्रथा आज भी हर धर्म-सम्प्रदाय के अनुयायी के बीच प्रचलित है.

समस्त धर्मों के देवता हैं देवशिल्पी

देवता असुरों के संहार के लिए भगवान विश्वकर्मा जी से अस्त्र-शस्त्र की मांग करते थे. लेकिन आदिमानव अपनी सुरक्षा के लिए स्वयं निर्मित हथियारों व औजारों से विकासक्रम की गति तेज करते गए. आदिमानव समूह का ही एक वर्ग संभवत: शिल्पशास्त्री की लौहसंहिता का अध्ययन कर नव-निर्माण की प्रक्रिया को गतिमान किया. यह समूह कर्मयोगी बनकर विश्व भ्रमण कर मानव समुदाय को कर्म ही पूजा कर्म ही देवता और कर्मकांड से अवगत कराया. इस तरह धीरे-धीरे तकनीकी अभियंत्रण कला के पारखी व नवीन शिल्पी रचनाकार अपनी सूझबूझ और तकनीकी दक्षता से कला-संस्कृति का दीप प्रज्ज्वलित किया. कहते हैं सम्यक सृष्टि और कर्म ही जिसका व्यापार है वही विश्वकर्मा है. इस तरह भगवान किसी विशेष धर्म या जाति के देवता नहीं हैं, वरण ये समस्त धर्मों के देवता हैं. इनकी अभ्यर्थना में धर्म-जाति का कोई बंधन नहीं हैं. जो लोग निर्माण या जीर्णोद्धार में लगे हैं, विश्वकर्मा जी उनके आराध्य देव हैं. इस दिन उद्योगों और फैक्ट्रियों में मशीनों की पूजा की जाती है। देवशिल्पी को दुनिया का पहला इंजीनियर और वास्तुकार के नाम से जाना जाता है। इस दिन उद्योगों, फैक्ट्रियों में मशीनों की पूजा अर्चना की जाती है।

श्रमिकों का त्योहार है विश्वकर्मा पूजा

कल-कारखानों में या गैरसरकारी प्रतिष्ठानों में हर जाति समुदाय के कामगार या श्रमिक उत्पादन या संयंत्रों के सुचारू रूप से रख-रखाव के लिए मालिक-मजदूर विश्वकर्मा जयंती के अवसर पर विधिवत पूजा-अर्चना करते हैं. वाणिज्य-व्यवसाय या छोटे उद्योग-धंधों में लगे लोग इस दिन विश्वकर्मा जी की आराधना कर अपनी कार्यशालाएं बंद रखते हैं. विश्वकर्मा पूजा श्रमिकों का त्योहार है. समस्त सृष्टि के रचयिता की शिल्प कला व ज्ञान रश्मि से आज जीवन तत्व इस पृथ्वी पर विद्यमान हैं. हमें शिल्पकला शिल्प समुदाय व शिल्पेश्वर के अस्तित्व को कायम रखना चाहिए, तभी अपना राष्ट्र प्रगति कर सकता है. आधुनिक युग में जापान और अमेरिका इसकी मिसाल है. आज हम तकनीकी और अभियंत्रण कला में इन देशों से काफी पीछे छूट गए हैं.
