Digvijaya Singh attracted criticism over Chandrayaan 3’s assertion that ISRO scientists hadn’t received salary in 17 months.

We are pleased that ISRO scientists are working hard to ensure Chandryaan’s safe lunar landing. We ask the Almighty for prosperity on their behalf. However, published stories claim that the scientists responsible for this phenomenon have not been paid in 17 months. Singh told ANI that the Prime Minister should also pay attention to this.

His statement was made only a few days after the Government of India Press Information Bureau’s fact-checking division refuted a claim of a similar nature. The seasoned Congress lawmaker advised the prime minister to pay attention to the payment of ISRO scientists’ salaries on the day of Chandrayaan 3’s attempt to arrive on the moon.

The head of the BJP’s IT cell tweeted, “The abominable Digvijay Singh called out for peddling  on the day ISRO is all set to make India proud,” taking aim at the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. Congress despises Prime Minister Modi but despises an empowered, rising India even more because such a nation will never support the Congress.

Congress moans as India celebrates Chandrayaan-3.

Tehseen Poonawalla, a businesswoman and political pundit, recently asserted a similar allegation on a podcast, claiming that the ISRO scientists were not paid for three months. Poonawalla asserted that “ISRO scientists haven’t been paid salaries for the last three months” during an episode of “The Ranveer Show podcast”. Is that fair? That’s why I have a problem with this regime. We have a lot of pride in ISRO. This organization is fantastic. Please feel free to fact-check my statement that salaries for three months have not been paid.

Later, PIB Fact Check refuted the assertion, stating that ISRO scientists actually receive payment on the final day of each month. The PIB fact-checked Tehseen Poonawalla, a socialite and supporter of Congress, last week on August 16 after she made identical accusations that ISRO scientists hadn’t gotten their salary in three months. The charges were made by Tehseen Poonawalla in a podcast hosted by well-known podcaster and YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia, whose channel is called “Beerbiceps.”
