Noida: Speeding BMW crashed an e-rickshaw from behind claiming the lives of 2 people and 3 critically injured.

Two people died and three sustained critical injuries when a speeding BMW smashed into an e-rickshaw near Sumitra Hospital in Sector 24 of the Gautam Buddh Nagar district on Thursday, May 16, in Noida this morning. Around 6 in the morning, a collision occurred when a speeding BMW car rear-ended an e-rickshaw carrying five passengers from behind. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical care. The e-rickshaw was traveling to the Noida sector 12-22 region from Noida City Centre. According to the police, the seriously injured rickshaw passengers have been admitted to hospital.

 Additionally, local police have apprehended two individuals from the luxury car implicated in the incident, while the third person is currently evading capture. Two people were declared dead during the treatment and the deceased have been identified by the police as Mohammad Mustafa (50), and Rashmi (25) who worked as a nurse at the Metro Hospital in the city and the injured have been identified as e-rickshaw driver Rajendra (45), Pawan (27), and Surajpur (20) and are in stable condition now. The spokesperson stated that two residents of Sector 21, Tushar Kumar and Adi Batra, were in the BMW at the time of the collision and were being held by officers from the nearby Sector 24 police station.

After the collision, Aman Sisodia, who was the third passenger in the vehicle, escaped the scene. The official claimed that he also resides in Sector 41 which comes under the jurisdiction of the Sector 39 police station. To ascertain the cause and circumstances surrounding the accident, Noida police have started the required legal proceedings and  have collected all the required evidence present from the scene, and are currently conducting additional investigation into the occurrence.
