The Ghaziabad police arrested two brothers on Sunday for allegedly raping their 14-year-old sister for more than a year in the Ghaziabad region of Uttar Pradesh, in a disturbing case of incest and pedophilia. According to the police, the accused brother’s ages are 23 and 20. The incident was uncovered when the girl fell ill, prompting her mother to take her to a hospital for an ultrasound in Delhi. Upon examination, the doctors determined that she was 22 weeks pregnant. The brothers were taken into custody on Sunday, according to the police officials, following a complaint made at the Tila Morh police station.
The complaint states that the two brothers sexually assaulted their class 8 student sister. Allegedly, they had subjected her to sexual exploitation over the past year, resulting in her pregnancy. Assistant commissioner of the police (Shalimar Garden police circle) Siddharth Gautam stated,” The girl subsequently confided in her mother’s, revealing that she had been subjected to repeated instances of rape by her own two brothers in their mother’s December 2023. The mother is the sole member of the family who works to make money, according to police, and the siblings ‘s father passed away many years ago.
The mother reported her two boys to the authorities after learning of the girl’s ordeal. Neither of them earns…, they had coerced the girl into silence by threatening her not to disclose the incidents to their mother,” Gautam elaborated. As per the police, following the mother’s complaint on May 17, an FIR was officially filed under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 376d (of gang rape) and relevant clauses of the Protection of Children against sexual offenses (POSCO) act. The case was registered at a police station under the Shalimar Garden police circle. Gautam reported that the two brothers were apprehended from near Wazirabad Road on Sunday.
