Ammy Virk, a Punjabi actor best known for his part in Ranveer Singh’s 83, recently highlighted the important contribution Diljit Dosanjh made to the advancement of Punjabi performers in mainstream Hindi cinema. Ammy will soon be seen with Triptii Dimri and Vicky Kaushal in Karan Johar’s comedy-drama Bad Newz.
Ammy gave Dosanjh praise in an interview for breaking misconceptions and giving Punjabi actors in Bollywood chances. “Earlier, Diljit (Dosanjh) paaji came and broke the stereotype of Punjabi actors, which allowed us to get good work here,” Ammy continued. He acknowledged Dosanjh’s influence and conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity he has been given. He also emphasized his desire to use his job to make Punjab proud.
Ammy’s Bollywood career includes appearances in the films 83, in which he played former cricket player Balwinder Sandhu, and Bhuj: The Pride of India, costarring Ajay Devgn. The specifics of his part in Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein are still unknown, but he will next be seen there.
In the meantime, Diljit Dosanjh, who debuted in Bollywood with Udta Punjab in 2016, has acted in films such as Arjun Patiala, Jogi, Soorma, Phillauri, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, and Crew. His most recent appearance was with Parineeti Chopra in Imtiaz Ali’s historical film Amar Singh Chamkila, where he played the late Punjabi folk artist.
Thanks in part to Diljit Dosanjh’s trailblazing, Ammy Virk is still on the rise in Bollywood and is eager to work on more enjoyable projects in the business.
