Finally available on Netflix, “Srikanth”: A True Story with Real-Life References is a must-watch.

Srikanth, which is directed by Tushar Hiranandani, tells the touching and motivational story of a young man who decided to go against the grain, face the challenges, and not allow his disability stand in the way of his ambitions.

In addition, Srikanth is a tale of tenacity, determination, and self-belief. I was astounded to learn that the majority of the events shown in the movie were true. The movie is based on Srikanth Bolla’s true life, although the creators took some artistic licence to essentially up the drama and add more interesting problems.

In Andhra Pradesh, Srikanth was born in the small village of Seetharampuram. His parents and other family members were somewhat disappointed in him for having a deformity at birth. Although many advocated for his parents to divorce him, Srikanth’s parents declined to consider these ideas. The movie depicts how Srikanth’s father nearly buried him alive because he didn’t want to shoulder the responsibility of raising a child with a disability. That behavior, in my opinion, was a symbolic depiction of their feelings and the stories that their loved ones had told them.

Srikanth’s father decided to relocate him to Hyderabad so he could attend a school for children with disabilities based on the recommendations of a few family members. Leaving his village was the hardest thing Srikanth had to do. It was difficult for him to live alone in a hostel and take care of all his household duties. However, eating brinjal every day was the largest challenge of them all—as Srikanth lamented throughout the movie.

Following that, you’ll witness how he handles the impending difficulties in his life as well as how people with disabilities are treated differently by others for seemingly trivial reasons. how important a role he plays in Indian laws for the disabled

I will try not to give any spoilers but it’s a must-watch as it is one of those rare good Bollywood movies
It was 3.5 out of 5
