BJP MP Alleges Jharkhand’s Shift Toward Islamic State Due to School Holiday Change

Ranchi : BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has stirred controversy by claiming that Jharkhand is being transformed into an Islamic state. His remarks followed several Urdu medium schools in the state changing their weekly holiday from Sunday to Friday, prompting Dubey to demand a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into what he described as a conspiracy.

On Friday, Dubey raised the issue in the Lok Sabha, calling it a very serious matter and urging an NIA investigation. He accused both the Congress and the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) of being involved in this alleged conspiracy, stating that they would go to any lengths, even collaborating with foreign entities like Pakistan or China, to win.

Dubey highlighted that the move to change the weekly holiday had faced significant backlash, leading several schools to revert to Sundays as their day off. He argued that this shift towards observing Fridays as a holiday was an attempt to Islamize the state.

Speaking to the media, Dubey said, “Jharkhand is being changed into an Islamic state. This is a conspiracy, and the NIA should investigate. Congress and JMM are in it together. They will take anyone’s help to win, be it Pakistan or China.”

In the Lok Sabha, Dubey, representing Jharkhand’s Godda constituency, emphasized the seriousness of the issue and called for the central government to withhold funds from these schools under the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. He pointed out that at least 1,800 schools in Jharkhand had suddenly added “Urdu” to their names and changed their weekly holiday to Friday.

The Jharkhand government had earlier informed the legislative assembly that 407 schools were declared Urdu schools at the local level, and a total of 509 schools had illegally shifted their weekly holiday from Sunday to Friday. Dubey argued that this move signified a broader trend toward Islamization in the country, using Jharkhand as an example.

He urged the central government to send a strong message that India follows one law and such actions will not be tolerated. Muslims consider Friday an auspicious day and hold Jumu’ah prayers with great significance.

In conclusion, Dubey’s remarks have sparked a significant debate, with calls for a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure that such changes are not part of a larger conspiracy.
