Lok Sabha Election 2024 Results: ADR Claims Voting Discrepancies in Bihar and Jharkhand

ADR reported that 5,54,598 fewer votes were counted than cast across 362 seats. In Bihar, out of 40 seats, 19 seats had fewer votes counted, while 21 seats had more votes counted. A total discrepancy of 18,273 votes was noted.

Irregularities in Jharkhand

In Jharkhand, out of 14 seats, 12 seats had 26,342 fewer votes counted, and 2 seats had 393 more votes counted. A total discrepancy of 26,735 votes was reported.

Election Commission’s Response

The Election Commission released the total voting data on June 7. This time, a total voter turnout of 65.79% was recorded, which is 1.61% less than the 2019 elections. ADR states that the commission has been unable to explain the discrepancies between cast and counted votes. Information about the increase in voter percentage has not yet been provided.
