President of India to Honor 50 Teachers with National Awards on Teachers’ Day

New Delhi, August 29, 2024: The Department of School Education & Literacy, under the Ministry of Education, is set to hold its prestigious National Teachers’ Awards ceremony on September 5, 2024, coinciding with Teachers’ Day. This event, a hallmark of educational excellence in India, will take place at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, where 50 outstanding educators will be recognized for their dedication and contributions to the field of education.

The Hon’ble President of India has graciously consented to present the awards to the selected teachers, who have been chosen through a rigorous, transparent, and online three-stage selection process. Each award includes a certificate of merit, a cash prize of ₹50,000, and a silver medal.

Among the awardees are several notable educators from across various states:

  1. Avinasha Sharma from GMSSSS NIT 3, Faridabad, Haryana has been selected for her exceptional teaching methods and commitment to student development.
  2. Sunil Kumar, a teacher at GSSS Khargat, Sihunta, Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, is recognized for his innovative approaches in the classroom.
  3. Pankaj Kumar Goyal from GSSS Girls Barnala, Punjab has made significant contributions to girls’ education and empowerment.
  4. Rajinder Singh, hailing from Government Primary School, Kothe Indra Singh Wale, Goniana Mandi, Bathinda, Punjab, is celebrated for his work in primary education.
  5. Baljinder Brar Singh of Government Senior Secondary School 4JJ, Padampur, Ganganagar, Rajasthan is honored for his dedication to improving secondary education standards.
  6. Hukam Chand Chaudhary from Government Senior Secondary School, BSF Bikaner, Rajasthan has been instrumental in enhancing the educational experience for students in his region.
  7. Kusum Lata Gariya, a teacher at Government Upper Primary School, Veena, Pokhri, Chamoli, Uttarakhand, is recognized for her efforts in rural education.
  8. Chandralekha Damodar Mestri from Satyawati Soiru Angle Higher Secondary School, Mashem Loliem, Canacona, South Goa has been acknowledged for her significant impact on higher secondary education.
  9. Chandreshkumar Bholashankar Borisagar of Navi Badhada Primary School, Badhadapara, Gujarat is celebrated for his dedication to primary education.

These teachers, among others, will be staying at Hotel ‘The Ashok’, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, from the afternoon of September 3 until the forenoon of September 6, 2024. The ceremony will not only celebrate their achievements but also underscore the importance of education in shaping the future of the nation.
