JSSC CGL Exam Conducted Amid Police Raids, ₹94 Lakh Seized from Hotel in Medininagar

Medininagar, September 21, 2024 The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination is being held today and tomorrow, but the events leading up to the exam have raised significant concerns. Late Friday night, police conducted a series of raids in various locations, and one particular raid at a hotel in Medininagar resulted in the discovery of ₹94 lakh in cash.

According to authorities, the police raid was carried out at the Taj Hotel in Medininagar, Palamu district. During the operation, officers seized ₹94 lakh in cash, which was found in six separate bundles. The breakdown of the amount revealed that four bundles contained ₹14.5 lakh each, while another held ₹17.5 lakh. The bundles were hidden in different bags.

Following the seizure, two individuals were taken into police custody for questioning. The suspects were identified as Satan Yadav from Aurangabad, Bihar, and Nitish Kumar from Patna. Both individuals are currently being interrogated by law enforcement at the City Police Station.

Initial reports suggest that the large sum of money was intended for delivery to an undisclosed recipient in Medininagar. During questioning, the accused revealed that the cash was handed over to them by a gold merchant in Varanasi. They were instructed to deliver the money to someone in Medininagar, who would contact them by phone. The suspects were told that an individual would arrive after the phone call to collect the money.

Palamu Superintendent of Police (SP) Anurag Tiwari confirmed the development, stating that a thorough investigation is underway. “We are investigating the case from all angles, and appropriate legal action will be taken soon,” SP Tiwari said.

Authorities are now probing the connection between the seized cash and any potential malpractices related to the JSSC CGL examination. The presence of such a significant amount of unaccounted money during the exam period has raised suspicions of foul play, and the police are looking into whether the funds were meant to influence the examination process.

This incident has sparked widespread attention, with concerns growing over the integrity of the ongoing examination. The police are expected to make further arrests as the investigation progresses.

As the JSSC CGL examination continues, authorities are tightening security to ensure a fair and smooth process. More details are likely to emerge as the probe deepens.
