BJP Leader Raises Alarms Over Alleged Bangladeshi Infiltration in Jharkhand, Cites Government Inaction

Leader Claims State's Intelligence Department Warned of Infiltration, Cites Judiciary’s Call for Investigation

Leader Claims Government Ignored Intelligence Department’s Warning on Shelters and Document Fabrication

Ranchi, October 27

A prominent BJP leader in Jharkhand has taken to Twitter, alleging that illegal Bangladeshi immigrants are infiltrating the state with support from local leaders and government authorities.

According to the post, intelligence reports have confirmed that Bangladeshi immigrants are being provided shelter in various religious institutions across Santhal Pargana, where documentation such as identity cards is allegedly being fabricated to secure their stay.

The leader’s post referenced a June 2, 2023 letter from the state’s Intelligence Department to district officials and police superintendents, highlighting these issues. Despite such warnings, the BJP leader claims that no action was taken by the administration to address the infiltration. The post further details that the Jharkhand High Court expressed concern about the infiltration’s potential risks to the state, requesting a detailed report from the government.

Court-Ordered Investigation Blocked by State Appeal

The High Court also called for an independent investigation to probe the extent of infiltration, particularly in Santhal Pargana. However, according to the BJP leader, the state government attempted to delay this action by appealing to the Supreme Court. The leader’s message criticizes local district commissioners, alleging they provided misleading affidavits claiming zero infiltrators in their regions, which led to heightened concerns about government transparency.

Impact on Tribal Lands and Rising Voter Demographics

The BJP leader additionally cited demographic shifts in Muslim populations at polling booths in the area, raising questions over alleged encroachment on tribal lands. “Santhal Pargana’s tribal lands are being gradually occupied, and migrant colonies are forming,” the post claims, suggesting that this trend may threaten the region’s indigenous communities and compromise their land rights.

Call for Action Against Infiltration

The leader called on citizens to rally against the infiltration and expose those allegedly protecting illegal immigrants. Labeling the situation as a significant threat to the state’s tribal population, the leader called for a united response to remove infiltrators and their supporters.

The BJP’s position highlights a growing political divide on this issue, amplifying calls for policy reforms to address illegal immigration in Jharkhand while pressing the current administration for a transparent response to these allegations.
