आदिवासी समाज की आत्मा है सरहुल, यह पर्व प्रकृति और संस्कृति का अनोखा संगम

सरहुल, झारखंड और मध्य-पूर्वी भारत के आदिवासी समुदायों का एक प्रमुख पर्व है, जो प्रकृति के प्रति उनकी गहरी आस्था और सामुदायिक एकता का प्रतीक है। यह उत्सव मुख्य रूप से मुंडा, उरांव (कुड़ुख), संथाल, हो, भूमिज और खड़िया जैसे आदिवासी समुदाय मनाते हैं। सरहुल का आयोजन चैत्र महीने की शुक्ल पक्ष की तृतीया से शुरू होकर पूर्णिमा तक चलता है, जो वसंत ऋतु के आगमन और नए साल की शुरुआत का संकेत देता है। यह पर्व न केवल धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक महत्व रखता है, बल्कि पर्यावरण संरक्षण और सामाजिक समरसता का भी संदेश देता है।

सरहुल की उत्पत्ति का कोई लिखित इतिहास नहीं

“सरहुल” शब्द दो शब्दों से मिलकर बना है: “सर” या “सारjom” (साल वृक्ष) और “हुल” (उत्सव)। साल वृक्ष आदिवासियों के लिए पवित्र माना जाता है और उनकी प्रकृतिवादी जीवनशैली का आधार है। यह पर्व उनकी उस मान्यता को दर्शाता है कि प्रकृति ही जीवन की संरक्षक और पोषक है। सरहुल की उत्पत्ति को लेकर कोई लिखित इतिहास नहीं है, लेकिन यह माना जाता है कि यह प्राचीन काल से चली आ रही परंपरा है, जो आदिवासियों के प्रकृति-केंद्रित सरना धर्म से जुड़ी है।

प्रकृति की पूजा: सरहुल में साल के फूलों, पत्तियों और फलों के साथ-साथ जंगल, पहाड़ों और ग्राम देवताओं की पूजा की जाती है। यह पर्व प्रकृति के पुनर्जनन और फसलों की समृद्धि की कामना से जुड़ा है।

नए साल का स्वागत: आदिवासी समुदायों के लिए सरहुल नए साल की शुरुआत का प्रतीक है। यह समय होता है जब साल के पेड़ पर नए फूल खिलते हैं, जो जीवन और उर्वरता का संकेत देते हैं।

सामुदायिक एकता: यह पर्व गाँव के सभी लोगों को एक साथ लाता है। नृत्य, संगीत और भोज के माध्यम से सामाजिक बंधन मजबूत होते हैं। यहाँ तक कि गैर-आदिवासी समुदाय भी इसमें शामिल होकर उत्सव की शोभा बढ़ाते हैं।

सरहुल की प्रमुख परंपराएं और रीति-रिवाज

गाँव का पुजारी (पाहन) और उसका सहायक (देउरी) सरना स्थल (जाहेर थान) पर पूजा का नेतृत्व करते हैं। साल के फूल, महुआ और जल के साथ सूर्य देवता, ग्राम देवता और पूर्वजों की पूजा की जाती है। कुछ समुदायों में मुर्गे की बलि दी जाती है, जिसे प्रकृति को अर्पण माना जाता है। पुजारी द्वारा पूजा के बाद फूल और जल का वितरण किया जाता है, जो समृद्धि और शांति का प्रतीक है।

नृत्य और संगीत: सरहुल का सबसे आकर्षक हिस्सा है पारंपरिक नृत्य। पुरुष और महिलाएँ रंग-बिरंगे परिधानों में मांदर, नगाड़ा और बाँसुरी की धुन पर नृत्य करते हैं।  “पाइका”, “चलि” और “कर्मा” जैसे नृत्य इस उत्सव की शान हैं।

सरहुल का समकालीन स्वरूप

आज के समय में सरहुल का स्वरूप कुछ हद तक बदल गया है। शहरी क्षेत्रों में यह पर्व पारंपरिक रूप से कम और उत्सव के रूप में अधिक मनाया जाता है। राँची, जमशेदपुर और धनबाद जैसे शहरों में सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम, झाँकियाँ और प्रदर्शनियाँ आयोजित की जाती हैं। सरकार भी इसे बढ़ावा देने के लिए छुट्टी घोषित करती है और विभिन्न आयोजन करती है। हालाँकि, ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में यह अभी भी अपनी मूल भावना के साथ मनाया जाता है।

सरहुल और पर्यावरण संरक्षण

सरहुल केवल एक धार्मिक पर्व नहीं, बल्कि पर्यावरण के प्रति जागरूकता का भी संदेश देता है। साल वृक्ष और जंगल की पूजा यह दर्शाती है कि आदिवासी समुदाय प्रकृति को अपने जीवन का आधार मानते हैं। यह पर्व आधुनिक समाज को यह सिखाता है कि प्राकृतिक संसाधनों का संरक्षण कितना आवश्यक है। आज जब जलवायु परिवर्तन और वन कटाई वैश्विक समस्याएँ बन गई हैं, सरहुल की यह परंपरा और भी प्रासंगिक हो जाती है।

चुनौतियां और संरक्षण की आवश्यकता

आधुनिकीकरण का प्रभाव: शहरीकरण और औद्योगीकरण के कारण नई पीढ़ी सरहुल की परंपराओं से दूर होती जा रही है।

सांस्कृतिक ह्रास: बाहरी धार्मिक प्रभाव और शिक्षा के अभाव में इस पर्व का मूल स्वरूप कमजोर पड़ रहा है।

प्रकृति का विनाश: खनन और वन कटाई ने साल वृक्षों और सरना स्थलों को नुकसान पहुँचाया है। इन चुनौतियों से निपटने के लिए सरहुल को स्कूलों में पढ़ाया जाना चाहिए और इसके संरक्षण के लिए सामुदायिक जागरूकता बढ़ानी चाहिए।
