गुमला में बेकाबू हाथियों का तांडव: घरों को किया ध्वस्त, एफसीआई गोदाम से चावल खाया

गुमला | 26 अप्रैल 2025 — गुमला जिले के भरनो और कामडारा प्रखंड में बिछड़े और आक्रोशित जंगली हाथियों ने शुक्रवार रात जमकर उत्पात मचाया। हाथियों ने दो अलग-अलग घरों को ध्वस्त कर दिया और एक सरकारी एफसीआई गोदाम का शटर तोड़कर चावल खाया व काफी मात्रा में बर्बाद कर दिया। पीड़ितों ने वन विभाग से मुआवजे की मांग की है।

भरनो एफसीआई गोदाम में हाथी का हमला

भरनो प्रखंड स्थित सरकारी एफसीआई गोदाम में देर रात लगभग 12 बजे एक जंगली हाथी ने हमला कर दिया। गोदाम के प्रबंधक धीरेंद्र सोरेन के अनुसार, हाथी ने शटर तोड़कर भीतर प्रवेश किया और करीब दस बोरा चावल खा लिया तथा काफी चावल बर्बाद कर दिया। यह पूरी घटना गोदाम में लगे सीसीटीवी कैमरे में रिकॉर्ड हो गई है।

घरों पर कहर: धान और घरेलू सामान भी नष्ट

इसी रात जकिया टोली निवासी सोमारी उराँइन के घर पर भी हाथी ने धावा बोला। हाथी ने घर को तहस-नहस कर दिया और घर में रखे पांच बोरा धान सहित अन्य घरेलू सामान को बर्बाद कर दिया।

वहीं, कामडारा प्रखंड के सरिता पंचायत अंतर्गत पिंपी बांसटोली गांव में भी एक अन्य हाथी ने शिवनारायण सिंह के घर को पूरी तरह से ध्वस्त कर दिया। हाथी ने घर में रखे धान, मड़ुवा और अन्य सामान को चट कर दिया। पीड़ित परिवार ने रात के अंधेरे में किसी तरह भागकर अपनी जान बचाई और शनिवार को पंचायत मुखिया को घटना की जानकारी दी।

ग्रामीणों का मुआवजे की मांग

घटना के बाद दोनों परिवारों ने वन विभाग से मुआवजे की गुहार लगाई है। उन्होंने नुकसान की तस्वीरें और विवरण पंचायत प्रतिनिधियों के माध्यम से विभाग को सौंपे हैं।

हर वर्ष दोहराई जाती है हाथियों की तबाही

गौरतलब है कि सारंडा जंगल से हर साल जंगली हाथियों का विशाल झुंड गुमला, लोहरदगा और सिमडेगा जिलों में प्रवेश करता है। इन हाथियों की याददाश्त अत्यंत तीव्र होती है, जिससे वे अपने पुराने रास्तों और इलाकों को नहीं भूलते। परिणामस्वरूप, वे बार-बार ग्रामीण इलाकों में घुसकर घर, खेत, खलिहान और फसल बर्बाद कर देते हैं।

ग्रामीणों का आरोप है कि वन विभाग समय रहते कदम नहीं उठाता, जिससे आम नागरिकों को जान-माल का भारी नुकसान उठाना पड़ता है। आक्रोशित ग्रामीण समय-समय पर आंदोलन भी करते हैं, लेकिन विभागीय उदासीनता जस की तस बनी रहती है।
