एल्सटॉम–भारतीय रेलवे साझेदारी ने मनाए 10 वर्ष पूरे, भारत में माल परिवहन को मिली नई दिशा

मधेपुरा/नई दिल्ली, नवंबर 2025: स्मार्ट और सस्टेनेबल मोबिलिटी की ग्लोबल कंपनी एल्सटॉम और भारतीय रेलवे के संयुक्त उपक्रम मधेपुरा इलेक्ट्रिक लोकोमोटिव प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (MELPL) ने अपने 10 वर्षों की सफल यात्रा का जश्न मनाया। इस दौरान कंपनी ने भारत के लिए अब तक 550 से अधिक 12,000 हॉर्सपावर (9 मेगावॉट) वाले हाई-पॉवर्ड फ्रेट लोकोमोटिव डिलीवर किए हैं। समारोह उत्तर प्रदेश के सहारनपुर स्थित अत्याधुनिक मेंटेनेंस डिपो में आयोजित हुआ।

मेक इन इंडिया का मजबूत स्तंभ

वर्ष 2015 में भारतीय रेलवे ने 3.5 बिलियन यूरो के करार के तहत एल्सटॉम को 800 इलेक्ट्रिक डबल-सेक्शन लोकोमोटिव बनाने की जिम्मेदारी दी थी।
ये लोकोमोटिव—WAG-12B—पूरी तरह स्वदेशी रूप से मधेपुरा के 250 एकड़ में फैले ग्रीनफील्ड प्लांट में बनाए जा रहे हैं।
कंपनी ने 85% से अधिक लोकलाइजेशन हासिल कर ‘आत्मनिर्भर भारत’ को बड़ी मजबूती दी है।

एल्सटॉम इंडिया के मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर ओलिवियर लॉइसन ने कहा:
“यह साझेदारी भारत की परिवहन क्षमता को नई ऊंचाई देती है। हमने दुनिया के सबसे शक्तिशाली फ्रेट लोको भारत में बनाकर 10,000 से अधिक लोगों को रोजगार दिया है और एक मजबूत इंडस्ट्रियल ईकोसिस्टम तैयार किया है।”

तकनीकी रूप से उन्नत और ऊर्जा-सक्षम

इन लोकोमोटिव्स में
✔ IGBT आधारित प्रोपल्शन सिस्टम
✔ रीजनरेटिव ब्रेकिंग
✔ 1676 मिमी ब्रॉड गेज के अनुकूल डिजाइन
✔ क्लाइमेट-कंट्रोल्ड कैब
✔ अत्यधिक गर्म और ठंडे मौसम (-50°C से 50°C) में कार्य करने की क्षमता
जैसी आधुनिक सुविधाएँ शामिल हैं।

मई 2020 में पहला ई-लोको सेवा में शामिल हुआ था। रेलवे ने इनके 120 किमी/घंटा तक संचालन की अनुमति भी दी है। इस वर्ष त्योहारी सीजन में इन्हें यात्री ट्रेनों में भी उपयोग किया गया।

मेंटेनेंस और प्रशिक्षण के लिए आधुनिक नेटवर्क

सहारनपुर और नागपुर में बनाए गए हाई-टेक डिपो में प्रेडिक्टिव मेंटेनेंस तकनीक का उपयोग होता है।
अभी तक 22,000 से अधिक रेलवे कर्मचारियों को ट्रेनिंग दी जा चुकी है।

सामाजिक प्रभाव भी मजबूत

एल्सटॉम मधेपुरा और सहारनपुर के आसपास के 21 गाँवों में शिक्षा, स्वास्थ्य, महिला सशक्तिकरण और कौशल विकास पर काम कर रहा है।
इन प्रयासों से 30,000 से अधिक लोगों के जीवन पर सकारात्मक प्रभाव पड़ा है।
