बैंक ऑफ इंडिया के जनरेटर में लगी आग, बड़ा हादसा टला, 50–60 लोग सुरक्षित

सोमवार को बैंक ऑफ इंडिया शाखा मोड पर उस समय अफरा-तफरी मच गई, जब दोपहर करीब 2 बजे बैंक के जनरेटर में अचानक आग लग गई। देखते ही देखते जनरेटर धू-धू कर जलने लगा और पूरा जनरेटर जलकर खाक हो गया।
जनरेटर मालिक निजामुद्दीन अंसारी ने बताया कि जनरेटर बंद अवस्था में था और लंच का समय होने के कारण सभी लोग खाना खाने जा रहे थे। इसी दौरान जनरेटर से अचानक धुआं निकलने लगा, जिसके कुछ ही क्षण बाद उसमें आग लग गई।
आग और धुएं को देख बैंक के आसपास स्थित दुकानदारों ने तुरंत अपनी दुकानों के शटर गिरा दिए और सुरक्षित बाहर निकल आए। वहीं बैंक के अंदर मौजूद ग्राहक और कर्मचारी जब धुएं से घिरने लगे तो बाहर निकलकर आग के स्रोत की जानकारी ली। जैसे ही यह स्पष्ट हुआ कि जनरेटर में आग लगी है, लोगों को तुरंत बाहर निकालने का काम शुरू कर दिया गया।
घटना के समय बैंक के अंदर करीब 50 से 60 लोग मौजूद थे, जिन्हें सुरक्षित बाहर निकाल लिया गया। गनीमत रही कि इस हादसे में किसी के हताहत होने की कोई सूचना नहीं है।
बैंक कर्मियों द्वारा आग बुझाने वाले गैस सिलेंडर (फायर एक्सटिंग्विशर) की मदद से आग पर आंशिक रूप से काबू पाने का प्रयास किया गया। इसके बाद फायर ब्रिगेड को सूचना दी गई, लेकिन दमकल वाहन के विलंब से पहुंचने के कारण तब तक जनरेटर पूरी तरह जल चुका था।
बताया जा रहा है कि सोमवार को यह आग लगने की दूसरी घटना है। स्थानीय लोगों का कहना है कि यदि फायर ब्रिगेड समय पर पहुंच जाती, तो नुकसान को काफी हद तक कम किया जा सकता था।
